Google will set up “Quick Phrases” to trigger Assistant without “Hey Google”

The Quick Phrases feature was spotted on Pixel 3 XL smartphones running Android 12 Beta version 12.39.17.29. This also creates confusion if the feature is exclusive to the latest operating system. Anyway, in order to experience the feature, you need to activate it via Assistant settings. After toggling the button, the Google Assistant will listen to certain phrases depending on the situation.

In short, it puts the Assistant on standby. For instance, you can simply say “Answer” to pick up an incoming call or reject it by saying “Decline.” Similarly, you can stop or turn off the alarm by saying “Stop” or “Snooze.” In any case, you don't have to lead the command with “Hey Google” anymore.

Additionally, some other similar commands are likely to accompany the list of Quick Phrases. This could include regular orders like “Cancel the alarm,” “Send a broadcast,” “What’s the weather?,” “Turn up the volume,” and “Pause the music.”

Also, Google Assistant will remind you that you can skip saying “Hey Google.” It will display a small bar beneath the notification for alarms/timers and incoming phone calls.

List of Samsung devices receiving RAM Plus feature

All the recent modern operating systems offer a new feature known as RAM expansion. As the name suggests, it simply works by taking some parts of the onboard storage (ROM) and converting them into virtual RAM.

Samsung RAM Plus

Make sure to visit: Download Android 12 GApps for every Android device

The feature is useful for those with low configuration handsets as their device's memory can keep up with the storage demands. Moreover, it boosts the multi-tasking abilities and keeps apps cached for a quick launch. Many smartphone brands have taken up this trait including Samsung, which like to call it RAM Plus.

As mentioned, almost all operating systems including Android already have this feature. But Samsung is releasing it for some of its Galaxy devices to increase the device’s RAM for free. Though the set limit is up to 7GB which can be used as virtual memory by users.

This implies, if a smartphone has 8GB RAM, the user can allocate up to 15GB using this feature. While the average of 4GB device can get 11GB RAM. The system provides 2GB of internal storage that serves as RAM effectively.

Here is the list of devices that are receiving the RAM Plus feature by Samsung:

  1. Galaxy A52s

  2. Galaxy A52 5G

  3. Galaxy Z Fold 3

  4. Galaxy S21

  5. Galaxy S21+

  6. Galaxy S21 Ultra

As the company has just started releasing the feature via new software updates. We expect more smartphones to add to the list.

Also, there's a possibility that Google could officially announce the release of Android 12 for its flagships at the event. Though the operating system is released as an AOSP. And Google gave the time frame of the next few weeks for the Android 12 update for Pixel and other smartphones manufacturers. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be the first smartphone to get the Android 12 OS.

If we look at the pictures previously revealed by Google, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro look quite different from their predecessors. Apart from the new design, the company has powered the devices with its Tensor processor. Moreover, they will house new fancy cameras with bars running across the width of the phones using Samsung sensors.

You must be wondering about the naming protocol as instead of the typical XL model, this time Google has decided to introduce a pro variant. Talking about the difference in design, both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is almost the same. However, they differ in their screen size, camera lenses, and obviously, the Pro variant has some extra features onboard.

We have the launch date in our hands now but the pricing and availability are still unknown and will be revealed at the launch event.
