OnePlus 8 series gets OxygenOS 12 C.16 update with improved battery life

The OnePlus 8 series is getting treated really well this month. The lineup received four software updates. Once again, the company is releasing a new update for the family, including the T-Mobile variant— OnePlus 8OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T. The update for all the models is based on OxygenOS 12.

The announcement was made through the official OnePlus community forum. According to the post, the latest software update for the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T is bundled with version number C.16. As of now, the build is rolling out in Europe, while more markets will get a similar version in the coming weeks.

Precisely, for the OnePlus 8, the build arrives on version IN2013_11.C.16, while for the OnePlus 8 Pro, it carries the IN2023_11.C.16 build number. On the other hand, the T-mobile model users will have to look out for firmware version KB2003_11.C.16.

Regarding changes, the package does not inculcate any significant features or modifications. However, it ensures a longer user experience by optimizing the power consumption in some scenarios. Ultimately, improving the battery life experience.

As always, the latest update is rolling out in batches. The build is hitting the units in a staged manner to a limited number of users today. [Update: April 2022 Security Patch] Realme V25 Updates Tracker

Realme V25 was launched in March 2022 flaunting a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen. The smartphone fuels  Android 12 OS out of the box along with Realme UI 3.0 on top. The Realme GT 2 is built around a 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The panel provides a 120Hz refresh rate, a 92.6% screen-to-body ratio, 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution, and 1300 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, a Snapdragon 888 5G SoC powers the Realme GT 2. The phone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For software, the device boosts Android 12 OS out of the box along with Realme UI 3.0 on top.

In terms of optics, a 50MP primary lens leads the triple-camera setup on the rear side. Alongside, there's an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. At the front, Realme GT 2 houses a 16MP selfie camera.

Motorola Edge (2021) and Edge+ receives stable Android 12 update

Last year in December, Motorola shared a list of smartphones that are eligible to get the Android 12 update. Although, compared to other OEMs, the company is slower to deliver updates. Anyway, the Lenovo-owned firm is sending the latest operating system to a couple of devices— Motorola Edge (2021) and Edge+.

Talking about the Motorola Edge (2021), the update is specifically rolling out for the devices with model number XT21411-2-SS. The Android 12 goodies are packed with firmware version S1RM32.48-18-11 which weighs over 1GB to download. As of now, the package is limited to the USA, while more regions will get the build in the upcoming weeks.

Heading to the Edge+, the new operating system is a part of firmware version S1PB32.41.10-17 which weighs approximately 1.5GB in size. The software is available for the phones with model number XT2061-3-SS in the European market.

As far as changes are concerned, needless to say, the users in their respective regions will get all the Android 12 features. This includes Material You design, Privacy Dashboard, redesigned notification panel, gaming improvements, and much more. In addition, the version for the Motorola Edge (2021) will also include the March 2022 security patch.

As usual, the build is spinning out in batches and will hit the respective smartphones in selected regions as an OTA. Therefore, it may take a while to have a border rollout. In the meantime, you can trigger the update manually via the Settings > System > Advanced > System Updates.

OnePlus Ace makes its debut in China with Dimensity 8100 Max SoC for ¥2,499

OnePlus has marked the launch of a new series with the OnePlus Ace. The smartphone is finally official in China alongside the OnePlus Buds N and OnePlus Cloud Ear Z2. To mention, the same device will debut as the OnePlus 10R in India. Here is a closer look at the OnePlus Ace.

The OnePlus Ace is built around a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display featuring a centered punch cut-out. The panel offers a 120Hz screen refresh rate, HDR10+, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and 1000Hz instant touch. On the software front, the phone comes pre-installed with Android 12 OS.

Furthermore, a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max SoC powers the OnePlus Ace under the hood. FYI, this chipset is an enhanced version of the Dimensity 8100 SoC. Also, the processor is integrated with Arm Mali-G610 MC6 GPU and HyperBoost gaming engine.

For optics, the OnePlus Ace carries a triple rear camera module led by a 50MP main sensor. Alongside, there's an 8MP ultrawide angle unit and a 2MP depth sensor. On the other side, the device houses a 16MP shooter to serve selfies and video chats.
