Rogers Confirms Galaxy Nexus Launch for January

Rogers has announced that they will also be adding the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to their lineup this carrier, joining Canadian carriers Virgin and Bell (though those two will be bringing it much sooner). You’ll be able to sign up to be notified of its availability, though we can’t quite find the page that Rogers said would be up to do just that. If you come across it be sure to let us and others know in the comments section below! [Twitter via The Verge]

Samsung Galaxy S Glide and Motorola RAZR Headed to Rogers this Week

While Motorola’s new take on the RAZR franchise will be exclusive to Verizon in the US, those in other parts of the world should have no problem getting ahold of the new device. A new leak out of Rogers indicates the handset will be available beginning November 4th. The same leak shows that the Motorola RAZR will be preceded by the Samsung Galaxy S Glide with its combination of high-end specs and slide-out keyboard on November 3rd. Both devices will be available for $149.99 on three-year contracts.

HTC Raider sailing to Rogers with 4G LTE for just $149

The new HTC Raider codenamed the Holiday is all set to finally hit the shelves and reach our pockets, but with Rogers for now. While we are still waiting for a US launch like the leaks for AT&T suggest, Rogers will be getting this new 4.5″ 4G LTE smartphone here shortly, possibly as soon as November 1st.

We’ve seen plenty of the Raider (Holiday) and it was first leaked to the web back in August and we quickly learned it will be called the Raider. You can get all the details from HTC’s official announcement but what we have is a 4.5″ qHD smartphone with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and a beastly 8MP camera with dual LED flash.

Headed to Rogers Canada the HTC Raider will run with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and HTC Sense 3.0 UI. The awesomely low price listed above is on a new 3-year contract from Rogers. We don’t have an official launch date or what regular contract pricing will be at this time but for those in Canada this is one great smartphone. Apparently if users get a family plan with two lines of voice and data Rogers will also give buyers a free Galaxy Tab 10.1 — sweet deal huh? I’d be picking up a few HTC Raiders and enjoying that free tablet if I was chillin up in Canada.

Rogers Rolls Out LTE For Major Canadian Cities, Leaks Pricing For Device Line Up

After just over a year of envious grumbling, the Canadians have finally gotten their first taste of LTE. Rogers Wireless announced today that true 4G speeds are available to customers in specific coverage areas in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver.
While this is surely a cause for excitement for my fellow Canucks, the devices that are currently on this new network aren't. At the time of launch, the only LTE device available to consumers is the Sierra Wireless AirCard 313U, a mobile "LTE Rocket stick" for laptops. On October 18, the HTC Jetstream will hit the market, with an LTE version of the Galaxy S II and the Sierra AirCard 754S mobile hotspot to follow in the weeks after.
Rogers has announced the pricing for the Jetstream, Galaxy S II, and the AirCard 754S on a 3-year contract or off contract, but MobileSyrup managed to get a hold of the full pricing details for the line up. Here's a look at what Rogers will be asking for their LTE devices:
HTC Jetstream: Launching October 18th:
3-year contract: $499.99
2-year contract: $549.99
1-year contract: $599.99
No-Term: $799.99
LTE Samsung Galaxy S II:
3-year contract: $199.99
2-year contract: $549.99
1-year contract: $599.99
No-Term: $649.99
LTE Sierra Wireless 754S Mobile Hotspot:
3-year contract: $129.99
2-year contract: $149.99
1-year contract: $169.99
No-Term: $199.99
The coverage may not be vast and the devices may not be many, but it's a start. Hopefully, Canadians will soon be able to stream hockey games and get directions to the nearest Timmie's even faster.

Samsung Galaxy S Glide QWERTY Slider with a dual-core heads to Rogers

I know there is still a huge market for QWERTY slider smartphones these days, and for someone waiting for a powerhouse slider this may be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Sadly for now this is only known to be headed to Rogers Canada but it sounds impressive and we have all the details. It may not be named a Galaxy S “II” but don’t let that fool you.

Shown in the image below the Glide features an impressive 4 row slide-out QWERTY keyboard with big and well spaced keys, as well as dedicated home, menu, back, and search buttons on the outer edges. We mentioned this is titled with the Galaxy S name and it appears Samsung chose not to call this a Galaxy S II phone but we aren’t fully clear why.

They may have left off the II in the name but they didn’t forget that second processing core. We have an unknown 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a 4.0″ AMOLED display (no 4.3 or 4.5″ here), as well as that spacious 4 row keyboard, an 8 MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 1.3 MP camera around the front for those partaking in video chat. Running on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread and powered by Samsung’s Touch Wiz UX this looks to be a great well rounded phone.
No pricing was given by Samsung or Rogers but it should be available on the Canadian carrier just in time for the Holidays.
