WhatsApp is testing Detailed Reactions View for Albums

Earlier this month, WhatsApp introduced the message reaction feature on the platform. The function allows the user to show their reaction to any message through a set of six different emojis. Reportedly, the social media messenger is working to expand the element. Here's what the app is cooking!

WhatsApp

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is experimenting to add detailed reaction views to a group and private chats. This will show group members how individuals have reacted to a photo album. However, WhatsApp has not yet officially confirmed the development of the new feature.

In the current version, the user has to open every image in the album to know the reaction details. With the development, the reactions of the entire group can be seen automatically for albums without opening them. A thumbnail will be displayed with detailed message reaction information.

Here's a screenshot that gives the users a glimpse of what the feature might look like when it starts rolling out. In the screenshot, the feature adds a new media thumbnail with detailed reaction info.

The detailed reactions view for albums was spotted in WhatsApp’s iOS beta version. The pictures in the album will show thumbnails on the right with their complementary reactions. Once the update makes it to the stable phase, you can see all the reactions in one place instead of going through every image in an album.
