Google Calculator Lands as Standalone App at Play Store

After several updates to native Google Apps like Google Photos, YouTube Music and others. Google has rolled out Calculator standalone app at the Play Store.

Google has rolled out the standalone app because as per the development team of Calculator, they have to wait for Android Firmware upgrade to rollout any advancement. So, in order to tackle with that problem, Google has rolled out a single Calculator app in the lay Store.

There are no changes on the feature basis but Google has made it compatible with the Smartwatches. From now on, users can do simple calculations on the Android Wear Operating System oriented smartwatches.

So, if you don;t have Google Calculator, then just install it from the Play Store.

Additionally, Google has reduced the Android OS size by toning down these small features of OS into independent apps. Earlier, various Google apps have been converted in to the standalone apps.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 May comes packed with Snapdragon 823 and 3D touch

Xiaomi Mi Note successor is coming as according to some sources Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is coming very soon with Snapdragon 823 Soc and it may have have dual edge display.

According to the info Mi Note 2 will have curved display, the source says that it will be 5.7 inches in diagonal like the previous model. Resolution will be QHD, and a 3D touch pressure sensitive capability is being considered. Moreover, Device is powered with either a Snapdragon 820 or an 823 chipset and RAM will be 4GB or it can be 6GB, and storage options will include 32/64/128GB, with a possible 256GB variant too. The camera will feature the 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor, complete with OIS. Powering things will be a 3,600mAh battery, with some form of fast charging allowing the charger to supply up to 18watts.

Gionee P5 Mini unveiled with 4.5" Display

Gionee unveiled its new entry level smartphone Gionee P5 Mini in Nigeria. Gionee P5 Mini comes in three colours Blue, Black and Gold. Although there is no official word on the price of new smartphone.

Gionee P5 Mini packed with a quad-core 1.3GHz Mediatek with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage which can expanded upto 32 GB by microSD card. Instagram Introduces 60 Seconds Video Uploads

Instagram has rolled out new feature and has extended the earlier limit of 15 seconds of video upload on Instagram to 60 seconds. It’s a quite good extension that Instagram has allowed on its platform.

Instagram took this step as Video watch on Instagram went up by 40% in small span of time/ So that’s why this popular media has allowed the video of 60 seconds.

Also, on official blog of Instagram it is explained as follows:

In the last six months, the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40 percent. And longer videos mean more diverse stories from the accounts you love, whether it’s Selena Gomez hanging out with friends or beauty star Bretman Rock’s latest makeup tutorial.

Google Photos Update Let's You Undo Changes You Have Made

Google has rolled out new version of the Google Photos for Android App. The New app has come with the functionality which allows you to Undo the changes you have made to the images while editing it.

This feature provides users little comfort while editing the image if image have been overwritten by mistake. So it will provide user an option to undo any changes if mistakenly got saved.

Google said in a Google+ post that:

Sometimes it takes multiple edits to get a photo just right – or you change your mind and decide the original was perfect just the way it was. With today’s update for Android, editing is now fully reversible and non-destructive. So you can save your edits or save a new copy of the photo – either way, the original photo will remain untouched.

So guys just head over to the Play Store and download the latest version to get this undo feature.

HTC 10 Hits GFXBench with detailed Specs

HTC is going to launch its flagship device on April 12. As the date is coming close more leaks are coming out revealing HTC 10’s specs and design. Now HTC 10 hits the GFXBench with detailed specs which shows some new features coming.

According to the listing on GFXBench HTC 10 is features a 5.1-inch smartphone with a Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, or a pixel pitch of 576 ppi. It is powered with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, 12 MP rear camera and 5 MP front snapper and phone is packed with 3000 mAh battery. Moreover, phone will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of box.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) are Official Now

Samsung announced its Two mid-range android smartphones Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) on its Chinese Official Website. Their are lots of rumors and leaks related to both of these devices. Both the devices features a Dual sim and both of them are almost same in design but different in hardware.

According to the official website listing Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is having a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and laser autofocus, a 5 MP selfie snapper, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and 4G on board. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Its dimensions are 145.7 x 72.3 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 155.4g. It will comes in three colours White, Gold and Pink Gold. The Official images of Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) are listed in gallery below.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, the device relies on an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz (this could be an Exynos 7870, though Samsung has yet to confirm that). GIONEE S8 & GIONEE W909 with FINGERPRINT SENSOR Officially launched in China

GIONEE is a Chinese smartphone manufacturing company. Company launched its flagship device Gionee S8 and a premium dual screen Gionee W909 officially. Earlier Gionee S8 was first announced at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. Gionee W909 was also spotted on TENAA revealing all the specs.

The Gionee S8 is priced at 2,599 Yuan (approx $400 / 26,600 INR) while the Gionee W909 costs 3,999 Yuan (approx $616 / 41,000 INR). Now coming to specs Gionee S8 is powered with a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset (octa-core Processor) with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The 3,000mAh can be fast charged at 18W (9V, 2A). It runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow with custom Amigo 3.2 skin and has a fingerprint reader on its Home key.  Gionee features a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED display with Force Touch Capabilities similar to iPhone 6. Now coming to the Camera it has a 16 MP primary camera with PDAF as well as a laser autofocus system. Gionee S8 also packs in some added features like time lapse and slow motion video support. Gionee S8 supports 4G bands ( dual SIM setup) VoLTE support and Cat 6 LTE as well.

Gionee W909 comes with the dual displays one on front and other inside. Both the screens are of 4.2 inch size and have HD (1280 x 720) resolution. Now coming to other specs Gionee W909 features Helio P10 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card).. The 16-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel camera on front. The handset measures 124.6 x 62.5 x 16.4mm and weighs around 210 grams. It packs a 2530mAh battery that claims to offer 30 hours of talk time. Connectivity options of the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
