Vivo NEX 3S gets hold of Android 11 Beta Update

It’s just been a matter of ten odd days when Google released Android 11 Beta 1 update for the Pixel series. Since then, all major OEMs are in the process of releasing Beta update for their specific devices. Vivo has now revealed that Vivo NEX 3S is all set to get Android 11 Beta update. If you own a Vivo NEX 3S device, you may choose to test out the new exciting features Android 11 has to offer. This update is meant for developers only and general public should not give it a try as this initial Beta update includes several bugs and glitches. If you still want to download and install the update, you need to do it at your own risk as it could ruin your user experience.

You must be aware that Beta 1 update is always buggy and includes several issues. This is no exception as this update has several known issues that are not limited to but include:

● The off-screen fingerprint function cannot be used.

● The front lift camera is not available.

● The status bar display is abnormal: the camera hole and the rounded corner of the screen overlap the position of the status bar icon.

● The first time you start the Chrome browser, the “Turn on sync?” interface does not display the existing Google account login information.

● In the settings, the last item is About emulated device, not About device.

● There are 2 system upgrade pages in the settings (one in “Settings> System update” and the other in “Settings> System> Advanced> System update”), users may be confused.

As this initial Beta update is specifically for developers, you will be required to provide feedback on any issues or problems that you experience while development and testing to Vivo’s dedicated team. According to Vivo’s official page, Android 11 Beta 1 releases in mid-June 2020 while Android 11 Beta 2 is scheduled to be released in late July 2020.

Verizon locked Galaxy A50 and Moto G6 receive new updates

Carrier locked devices are not so good at receiving the latest updates. Either the updates arrive an eternity later or not at all in most of the cases. Nonetheless, Verizon has pushed the latest June security patch to Galaxy A50 and Moto G6 devices locked to its network.

In the case of Galaxy A50, the update is barely a security enhancement bringing nothing but the June SMR. However, the changelog of Moto G6 mentioned a few new changes apart from the improved security patch. Let’s have a brief look at the updates for each of the device.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy A50

The latest update for Verizon Galaxy A50 bears the version QP1A.190711.020.A505USQS6BTE3. Likely, the cursed Wallpaper bug of Android which pushed certain devices to bootloop should have fixed with the June SMR. So, if you’re one among them who’s plagued with the issue, then update to the latest version to be on the safer side.

Changelog

• The current software update provides the most up to date Android security patches on your device.

You’ll be notified on your device that a software update is available. If not, may navigate through the device options to seek updates manually. For that,

• From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.


• If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now.


• When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of the software is ready to be installed.


• Tap Install update.


• The device will power down and power back on.


• A screen will appear stating that the installation has been completed. Tap OK.

You’ve successfully updated your software. Confirm by going to Software information section and looking for the software version.

Verizon Moto G6

With the Software version PDS29.118-15-11-14, the latest update for Moto G6 brings following changes apart from the improved security.

• Includes changes to address some Call Filter app issues, like Caller ID info not being shown for missed calls, mobile number displayed twice for international calls, and number not displayed for incoming calls.

An update notification prompting you to install the new update would have reached all the Verizon Moto G6 out there. If you didn’t receive a notification message for this software update, then don’t worry as you may follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

1. Tap the Settings icon in the apps menu.


2. Tap About phone.


3. Tap System updates.


4. Tap Yes, I’m in to start downloading the software update.


5. Once the software update has finished, tap Install Now.

Your phone will restart automatically after the install.

Pixel 4 Google Camera gets additional video features

Google is literally an unbeatable force when it comes to smartphone camera algorithm. While its Pixel devices deliver great photos, the same cannot be said in the case of videos. Pixel devices haven’t yet delivered the best compared to the competitors. Nonetheless, with the latest update to Google Camera on Pixel 4, Google offers new features to the users which in effect can help to capture videos a lot better than before.

According to the source, the latest update takes Google Camera to version 7.4.104. The update boards multiple video features on Google Pixel 4 series. For instance, a new zoom slider is getting introduced with the release. Users updated to the latest Google Camera will now find a zoom slider on the viewfinder while recording video. The slider can be used to digital zoom up to 8x when a video is recorded in FHD@30fps.

Also, in the pop-up menu of video mode, there are now controls that switch between resolution and frames per second. With its help, users can switch between the resolution/fps with much ease than possible earlier.

Although the update brought nifty features, the 4K@60fps support for the latest Pixel phones still is a dream that may or may not become real. Hope Google to unlock the 4K@60fps as its competitors are way ahead in the videography given some are even able to shoot at 8K.

Samsung Galaxy A31 launched in India for INR. 21,999

It’s just a day ago Samsung released two new M Series devices in India. Today, Samsung has released another device but belongs to its mid-ranger A Series, the Galaxy A31. The all-new Galaxy A31 is priced at INR. 21,999 for its sole variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Unlike its predecessor Galaxy A30, the Galaxy A31 is powered by a MediaTek SoC, precisely, the MediaTek Helio P65. Since most of the Samsung devices used to have stunning displays, the Galaxy A31 is no different by providing a 6.4-inch FHD+ sAMOLED display.

With Dual-SIM option and a dedicated slot for expandable SD Card up to 512GB, the Samsung Galaxy A31 runs One UI 2 based on Android 10. There is a quad rear camera setup that comprises of a 48MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 lens and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter that has an f/2.2 aperture. Samsung Galaxy A30s getting June 2020 Security patch update

Recently, Samsung released the June 2020 Security patch update for many smartphones like Galaxy S20 Series, Galaxy Z, and others. Now, the company started rolling out June 2020 security patch for Galaxy A30s. According to the changelog provided by the company, the update includes only the new security patch, and no new features were added to this update.

As usual, the update features a security patch with security loophole fixes, and other bug fixes that were posted by the users last month on Samsung & Google community forums. The update appears as the A307FNXXU2BTE4 firmware version and is currently rolling out only in Israel. However, the update will be released soon for many other countries in the upcoming few days.

As it is the first roll-out of the June 2020 security patch update for Galaxy A30s, a set of random users will first start getting the update. After the successful verification of the update, all the users will start receiving it within a few days.

Samsung is working hard to fix all the reported issues by sending the security patch updates regularly every month.

To check the update manually, navigate to the Settings> Software updates> Check for Updates. If the update is available then download it for a better experience. Otherwise, wait until you get the update. We also suggest you switch to a WiFi network to avoid carrier data costs.

Galaxy A30s Specifications

Galaxy A30s was launched in 2019 with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display, 1080×2340 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 10nm Exynos 9610 octa-core chipset coupled with the Octa-core processor and Mali-G71 MP2. The device is available in three variants – 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage, 4GB RAM with 64 GB storage, and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage.

Android 11 beta launch postponed indefinitely

Nothing is going right in the world and its implication has affected various sectors all across the globe. As a tech enthusiast group, one of the things we’re excited, even during this critical phase was about the Android 11 beta launch scheduled for June 3. Seems our excitement is short-lived as Google has officially announced the postponement of the event.

Now it’s not the time to celebrate, says the Android Developers Twitter handle as a reason for the indefinite postponement. The latest announcement comes as a nail in the coffin of all tech enthusiasts who’re already dejected with the Google I/O being cancelled due to the pandemic.

Despite, Google urges the Android fans and developers to wait as they will be back with more on Android 11 soon. But when exactly, no word on the same yet. We might even witness Google directly pushing the stable Android 11 to the wild. This possibility can’t be ignored though.

Thanks to Project Treble, it’s during the beta phase of a new Android release when Google includes other OEMs to make use of the early builds. Unknown Realme RMX2185 device appears at TKDN Indonesia

Realme has got a slew of devices due for launch later this year from its popular X Series. The likes of Realme XT and X2 were popular in the emerging market such as India and Indonesia. Adding up to its X portfolio, Realme could have yet another device in the pipeline bearing the model number RMX2185.

TKDN Indonesia had listed an unknown device yesterday with the model number RMX2185. The same device listing appeared today as well, grabbing our attention. So far we don’t know what the device actual name is, but presumably, it would be a model of upcoming Realme X50t 5G or even Realme X3.

Earlier, Realme X50t 5G was spotted in a Google Play supported devices listing and on China’s 3C agency database. It bears the RMX2052 (global) and RMX2052CN (Chinese version) model numbers and was previously spotted on the TENAA database as well. Judging by the model number, the RMX2185 could be an X50 Series if not Realme X3.

Various leaks and listings suggest Realme working on multiple devices. The launch of these devices could happen soon at a date and time that Realme find apt given the current scenario of the global economy. Moreover, we can expect more leaks and rumours in the coming days unfolding all most all the mystery revolving around the upcoming Realme X devices.

As per the research firm Strategy Analytics, Samsung Galaxy A51 (4G) was the world’s highest-selling Android smartphone in the first quarter of 2020. Especially in the region such as India the device had showcased incredible performance in terms of sale. As a follow up to the device’s popularity and to keep the hype revolving around the device intact, Samsung has launched a beefed-up variant with monstrous 8GB RAM in India.

The Galaxy A51 8/128GB variant is priced at INR. 27,999($370), which is around INR. 2,500 more than the 6/128GB variant. The pricing is not bad given the device packs features and flaunts modern design which is strikingly similar to the high-end flagships from Samsung such as Galaxy Note 10/S10.

Apart from the increase in RAM, the new variant of Galaxy A51 offers nothing new but all those goodies which we already know.
