Google Meet latest update on Android and iOS brings new features

Since the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the world, the involvement of video calling platforms has increased. Several such platforms have polished their services as per the needs of the customers. To keep up with the pace, Google is also constantly updating the Google Meet app to make it better, convenient, and easier to use.

The latest update of the Google Meet app on Android and iOS brings a set of new entertaining features. As announced by the software giant before, the Meet app has received some fresh interesting filters, masks, and effects.

In fact, many of these filters are identical to that of Google Duo. To see the fresh filters, tap on the sparkle icon on the bottom-right corner of your video feed. There you will see an "Effects" sheet with all the available options according to your account type.

Tapping and selecting these filters will turn your face into a Cat, Dog, purple Elephant, crocodile, and some other characters respectively. Moreover, you will be able to add new "Styles" like B&W and lens flare once you flash the update.

The latest Google Meet update is live for Android and iOS users. Plus, it can be accessed via the integrated Gmail experience as well. However, the web version didn't get lucky yet.

For the unaware, with the aim to influence the consideration of Google Meet, the company integrated the G-mail and G-meet experience. Samsung Galaxy A10s is receiving an Android 11 update

Samsung is leaving no stone unturned in releasing the current stable Android channel to its flagships. After sending Android 11 OS to its recently launched and mid-launched smartphones, the company is focusing on the older handsets. Following Galaxy A20s, is the Galaxy A10s which is receiving the Android 11 update.

Presently, the latest Android 11 package for Galaxy A10s is rolling out in Malaysia and Vietnam. The build arrives via firmware version A107FXXU8CUG1. Along with the current stable operating channel comes the July 2021 Android security patch. With several fixes and optimizations, the patch also addresses the much-reported Android-auto bug.

Concerning changes, the package brings all the Android 11 goodies such as one-time permissions, a dedicated conversations section in the notifications area, a native screen recorder, UI overhaul, smart access to device controls, and much more.

Moreover, with this update, Samsung stock apps such as Samsung Internet and Samsung Keyboard will be improved. Also, the company has redesigned the Device Care menu, Additionally, the device now has the ability to remove GPS location data from images and a dedicated media player widget below quick setting toggles.

Keep in note that Galaxy A10s was launched in 2019 with Android 9 Pie and this is the second major OS update for the device. Concluding, this is the last major OS update for the device. After this update, the phone will only receive the regular security patch levels.

As usual, the OTA update is having a staged rollout in Malaysia and Vietnam. Accordingly, it may take some time to reach all the Galaxy A10s units. But, you can check for the build manually via Settings -> Software update -> Check for updates.

Google Pixel devices start getting the July 2021 Security Patch update

After Samsung, Google has now begun sending the July 2021 Security Patch update to its Pixel devices. The lineup includes Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5.



Google usually releases security updates to its Pixel devices on the first Monday of the month. But, due to the 4th of July weekend in its country, the updates have been delayed for some days. However, the new updates are here now.

Furthermore, the company has also released the July 2021 Android Security Bulletin. It provides the details for each of the security vulnerabilities that apply to the 2021-07-01 patch level. According to the bulletin, the new security patch dispatches vulnerabilities in Android components like Media Framework, Framework, and few others.

Forthcoming to the Pixel's bulletin, it incorporates several vulnerabilities ranging from high to critical. Apart from this, the pixel users are also receiving the VoLTE support "on certain networks" and fix for device certain conditions reboot issue. Presently, the build is unfurling in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, while it will reach out to more regions in the upcoming week. As expected, this is a minor bump and does not carry any new additions. Also, Samsung is yet to detail its July patch.

The build carries the build version M115FXXU2BUD8, which is rolling out in Vietnam. Samsung Galaxy M22 and Galaxy A12s grabs multiple certifications

Samsung keeps on adding newer devices to its flagships. This time, the company has almost prepared an M-series and A-series smartphone to launch in the market. So far, the devices have been spotted on several online certifications including Geekbench, FCC, and Google Play Console. Now, Samsung Galaxy M22 and Galaxy A12s have made their way to the Bluetooth SIG certification.

Starting with Galaxy M22, the Geekbench listing of the device reveals the model number SM-M225FV. Also, it will share most of its specs with the upcoming Galaxy A22. Another leak with the appearance on Geekbench was that it could equip MediaTek Helio G80 chipset under the hood.

According to the FCC listing, Galaxy M22 will support up to 25W of fast charging support. Though, Samsung will ship the smartphone with a 15W fast charger. However, it does not divulge the battery capacity of the device.

Heading to the Galaxy A12s, the device has been listed on Google Play Console. The arrival of the device in online certifications divulges the model number SM-A127F/DS depending upon the region. Galaxy A12s will just be a minor update over the standard Galaxy A12.

Galaxy A12 is a mid-range device powered by Android 10 One UI Core 2.5 based on MediaTek Helio P35 SoC chipset. The other specifications include a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT display, 128GB onboard storage, quad rear cameras, 15W fast charging, and more.
