The new Poco M-series devices are finally official: Poco M5 and Poco M5s. The duo is the latest budget offering from the company. However, the former device is launched in India, while the latter one is available in the global market. Anyway, let's take a closer look at the specifications, features, pricing, and other details of the new handsets.
Poco M5
Poco M5 features a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution. The panel offers a 90Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Widevine L1 support to stream HD content from OTT apps. In addition, a 5000mAh battery keeps the screen lightened up with 18W fast charging support.
Under the hood, the smartphone draws power from an octa-core processor based on MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. The chipset is paired with Arm Mali G57 GPU, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. Also, it supports the Virtual RAM feature, or as Poco likes to call it, Turbo RAM.
In terms of optics, the Poco M5 carries a triple rear camera alongside an LED flash. The setup is led by a 50MP primary unit which is accompanied by a couple of 2MP macro and depth sensors. On the other side, there's an 8MP shooter to take selfies and video calls.
On the software front, the device ships with
Android 12 out of the box along with a layer of

Poco M5s
The Poco M5s is a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 10S. The device sports a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a centrally aligned punch hole cutout. The panel offers a 60Hz refresh rate and has an IP53 rating for resistance against water splashes.
In the shooting department, the Poco M5s holds a quad-camera setup led by a 64MP main camera. The other sensors include 8MP ultrawide lenses and a couple of 2MP units for macro photography and depth sensing. At the front, it houses a 13MP snapper.
Underneath, a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset runs the handset paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For software, it boosts Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. Moreover, the company ships the device with a 5000 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. To serve the security, there's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner onboard.

The Poco M5 will go on sale via Flipkart from September 13 in Poco Yellow, Power Black, and Icy Blue color options. Whereas, the Poco M5s is available worldwide in Blue, Grey, and White.
