Galaxy S20 users can soon get the official Android 12 update

Samsung released the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 beta programs for multiple device lineups. Some of these devices have already reached the final version of the latest operating system. While for others, the program is still ongoing. However, one of the flagships is almost ready to escape the beta stage!

As revealed by Samsung’s beta operations manager in Korea, no new betas will be released for the Galaxy S20 series. In fact, the company is “preparing to open the official version” of Android 12 One UI 4.0. Keeping this on the table, we can say that Samsung has adhered to its schedule for providing a stable version to Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. As per the roadmap, the series is set to receive the package in early January 2022.

Given the fact that Android 12 One UI 4.0 software was buggy for Galaxy Z flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy S21, maybe Samsung needs to take more time to avoid this situation for further devices. Of course, users can wait for a smooth experience than an update littered with lags.

Take a look at these Android 13 leaked features!

The latest stable operating system— Android 12 is still making its way to most devices. Meanwhile, Google is already working on Android 13, some of the upcoming features were found recently in an early build.

Android 13

Earlier this year, Android 13's codename was revealed as “Tiramisu,” which by the way, is a traditional Italian espresso-flavored cake. Now, we have some pre-released features that will probably make way to the stable phase as well. With that being said, let's take a look at them.

Android 13 leaked features

  • Per-app language options

This feature of Android 13 is codenamed as “Panlingual” by Google. The per-app language settings will allow multilingual users to set different languages for different apps that too, without having to change the system language.

  • Notifications runtime permissions

Android 13 could allow giving runtime permissions to app notifications. That means notifications can become an optional feature that will be adjustable via the Settings app. We can assume that the feature will work similarly to camera and location services management. However, it is not sure if every app will have notifications disabled by default. It will help users reduce notification spamming though.

  • New UI lock screen clock

In Android 12, the clock in the lock screen switches from a double-line layout to a single-line whenever there's a new notification. Android 13 intends to tweak this feature further by adding a new toggle for disabling this lock screen animation. With this, you can choose to keep a double-line layout always.

  • The Android Resource Economy (TARE)

The Android Resource Economy or TARE will be a new energy management feature for apps by Google. Android 13 will impose task limits on apps that use a new system which can affect battery levels and various other parameters. This system emulates a virtual economy that generates apps based on the device’s battery level and other factors. This is called Android Resource Credits.
