Oppo A77 5G with Dimensity 810 SoC, 5,000 mAh battery, and more launched

Oppo has unveiled a new A-series smartphone in Thailand: Oppo A77 5G. The smartphone was leaked recently, revealing its key specifications. Here's a detailed look at the latest budget smartphone by Oppo.

Oppo A77 5G flaunts a Glow design which is claimed to be scratch and wear-resistant. The device is built around a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a 720 x 1,612 pixels resolution, a 269 PPI, 600 nits of peak brightness, and 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Under the helm, an octa-core processor based on MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC powers the Oppo A77 5G. The chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Also, the user can expand the RAM up to 5GB using the virtual memory expansion feature.

For optics, the Oppo A77 5G houses an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. At the back, there's a dual-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary shooter and a 2MP sensor to measure depth.

In addition to this, the device ships with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports a 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging over a USB Type-C port. Also, it offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to serve security. The other major specs include Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n/, Bluetooth v5.3, and more.

Pricing and Availability


The Oppo A77 5G arrives in a sole 6GB + 128GB storage variant that costs THB 9,999. The device will go on sale from June 10 in Midnight Black and Ocean Blue color options. You can purchase the phone via Shopee, JD, and Lazada. However, there is no official words regarding the availability in other regions.

Talking about the Gboard update, your phone will now allow you to turn your words into pictures using custom text stickers. Earlier, the feature was only available for the Pixel devices. Finally, it is rolling out to all Android users using Gboard in the English-US language.

In addition to this, there are new emoji mashups that can be accessed using the Emoji Kitchen. Adding this, the user has almost 1600+ new combinations to choose from. Moreover, it includes the new rainbow stickers to celebrate Pride Month.

Furthermore, the update will also filter out the surrounding sounds for a revamped audio experience. This will also enhance the reduction of background noise.

  • [June 3, 2022]: The Galaxy A73 is receiving a new update on firmware version A736BXXU1AVE3. The build brings the June 2022 security patch that is currently rolling out in Malaysia. The Android privacy patch will soon unfurl to more regions soon.


As the update is having a phase-wise rollout, it may take some time to reach all the units. Meanwhile, you can head to Settings > Software updates > Security updates to check the update manually. Also, we suggest you switch over to a WiFi network while flashing the update to avoid carrier data charges.

OnePlus Nord 5G receives stable Android 12 update in India

Now that the premium offerings are already updated, OnePlus has started to update its mid-range offerings. In the latest development, the standard OnePlus Nord 5G is getting OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12.

One UI Watch 4.5 beta allows the user to test the new features before its official release. OnePlus pushes out OxygenOS 12 C.20 for OnePlus 9R!

OnePlus 9R was the trimmed version of the flagship OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. It came with Android 11 out of the box. It later upgraded the smartphone to OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. OnePlus has started pushing a new update to the OnePlus 9R smartphone. The brand said that this is an incremental update, and the rollout will be through Over the Air (OTA). As of writing this article, the OxgenOS 12 C.20 update is only live for Indian users. The rollout in other markets is expected to begin in the following weeks. OnePlus announced the details of the update through a post in its community.

The update for the OnePlus 9R for the Indian units comes with the firmware version number LE2101_11.C.20​. OnePlus bumps up the security patch to May 2022. The May patch brings improvements in many security concerns. Apart from the patch update, it also brings improvement in system stability. There are no other changes with the update, and it is a minor one. The incremental update will take some time to reach every unit of the OnePlus 9R. Make sure to check for updates regularly not to miss the update notification. Head to Settings, System, and open the System Updates menu to check for updates. One can also install the update manually by using the OxygenOS updater app.
