CherryPal To Reaveal 7″ Android Tablet With GSM And A Capacitive Screen For Under $400?

Back in October of  2010 we brought you news of CherryPal’s 7″ Android tablet for under $200.  Well, they’re back with an updated predecessor.  The guys over at Mobile Magazine have been handed some “unconfirmed”, yet note worthy details regarding the new and upcoming tablet from Cherry.
The device is reported to still be 7″ inches in size but will sport a higher resolution than the old CherryPad running at 1024 x 600 instead of the previous 800 x 480.  In addition, the screen will now be a capacitive multi-touch display, not resistive.  Due to the improved specs, when it’s released, it will cost about twice as much as the previous model, somewhere in the $300-$400 range. The device will also sport a front and rear facing VGA 3.0 MP camera with an auto focus lens and LED flash.  Hit the break for more info and some close up shots, courtesy of Mobile Magazine.
Furthermore, the device has been reported to have a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor as opposed to the previous 800 MHz.  It will also tout 512 mb of DDR RAM, 8-16GB of on board flash memory, a 4200 mAh battery, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 along with a micro SD card slot and HDMI port.  The device will also include a GSM radio rather than just be a WiFi only tab.  And finally, on board, we can expect to see an accelerometer, light sensor and Android 2.2 (Froyo)  Let us know what you think in the comments below.  Do you think this will be a worthy iPad or Galaxy Tab competitor?
