With the launch of the much awaited Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich operating environment for smartphones, the top mobile companies are cashing in on its hype by releasing their phones in the beaming market.
Remember rocking F-Zero on your Super NES? Man, I remember burning holes in the screen playing the game until the sun went down. Now, thanks to Osaris Games, the makers of TurboFly 3D, you can have the closest thing available to it today for your Android smartphone. I have to say, not sure if this is just because I’m running the demo on the T-Mobile G2X with its dual-core goodness or not, but the play was smooth as a baby’s backside. However, I have seen the demo run pretty well on other single core devices as well and it looked just as great. Overall, I love the graphics and game play integration with the accelerometer. During my time with the game I experienced no hiccups whatsoever. The only thing left to be slightly desired was a little more of an intense fight or battle with other vehicles. Now, to be fair, I did just try out the demo, so this will need to be tested and judged for yourself.
The game comes in at a cheap price of just over $2 bucks with an available demo for you to test first. This is especially great since you only get 15 min to try it out and make a decision. I have no doubts that with the full version of the app, the game intensity will be taken to a whole new level. There are several different vehicles for you to choose from and a number of weapons for you to fend off other racers. Got an Android tablet? Definitely give this game a go on it! Ready to bring the F-Zero days back? Head on over to our popular apps database for more info and to grab the download. Hit the break to check out the game in action by our good friends over at Appolicious and to view the video of the classic F-Zero game itself for comparison. As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
