Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket: white version of the popular smartphone coming?

Rumors have begun to develop recently that AT&T will release a white version of their black Samsung Galaxy S II skyrocket for their 4G LTE wireless broadband network. Currently the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket black Android smartphone sporting Gingerbread’s 2.3.5 operating system is the only handset on their new 4G LTE platform. Neither Samsung nor AT&T would confirm or deny the rumors, but screen shots have appeared all over the web in the last couple of days displaying what looks to be a white Samsung Galaxy S II skyrocket.
While that rumor cannot be confirmed, the black version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is offered on AT&T’s 4G LTE network on Amazon at a retail price of one penny as long as the purchase is made before November 28. That offer is exclusive to Amazon as the largest online retailer in the world pushes to draw market share away from its competition. Amazon has also added free two-day shipping, and that one penny retail price does require the standard two-year activation.
Buy the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket for as little as $.01 this Black Friday weekend for new customers and at a discount for existing upgrades as well.
The handset arrives at AT&T with a 4.50 inch capacitive touchscreen and 480 x 800 pixel resolution. That display is Samsung’s own creation, and uses their Super AMOLED Plus display technology which supports 16 million color delivery. Light and proximity sensors are built in to the handset, and that screen is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
The handset measures 5.11 x 2.71 x 0.37 inches (129.8 x 68.8 x 9.49 mm) and weighs 4.60 ounces (130 g). The battery on board is 1850 mAh, and delivers 7.0 hours of continuous talk time and 11 days standby on a single charge. The Galaxy S II skyrocket is home to a dual core 1.5 GHz processor and 1.0 GB of RAM memory, as well as 16 GB of built-in storage. That storage can be upgraded to a full 32 GB utilizing the built-in microSD slot. The Skyrocket contains both front facing and rear facing cameras, an 8.0 megapixel rear model and front facing 2.0 megapixel chat cam. The rear facing device can record at 1080P HD and 30 frames per second, while the front facing chat cam also provides video calls and records in 720P HD quality.
