Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, launched in 2020 was the first Fan Edition device in the Galaxy S lineup. It came with all the flagship features like the Galaxy S20 series but at a lower cost. The device became people's favorite in a very short time and is still considered one of the best all-round you can find in the segment. On the other hand, the Galaxy Fold was the first foldable smartphone by Samsung. It was also appreciated by many in the industry and after its launch, Samsung has just improved the foldable smartphones.
Both of these devices are two years old now, and still receiving the latest updates from Samsung. Both of these devices might receive a couple of major Android updates in the future making them valuable options even after two years of launch. Recently both the devices have started receiving the latest One Ui 4.1 update in various regions.
One UI 4.1 update
The update on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE carries the firmware version G781BXXU4FVC and the latest March 2022 security patch. The major changes from the updates are the fix for the Game Optimization service and other new features like Smart Widget and Expanded RAM Plus. There are many other optimizations and bug fixes included in the latest update. The update is live in Europe now and is only available for the 5G variants of the device. The 4G variant still has to wait a little longer.
The update on the Galaxy Fold carries the firmware version F90xxXXU6VCE and is life in France and United Kingdom for now. The 4G variant of the device is receiving the update in France currently, while the 5G variant is receiving the latest One UI 4.1 in the United Kingdom.
If you hold a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G or Galaxy Fold 4G or 5G in the respective regions mentioned above, you might soon receive the update notification. You can also check for the update manually by navigating to Settings >> Software update. More regions will receive the update in the coming weeks.
