Download OxygenOS 13 Open Beta based on Android 13 for OnePlus 10 Pro

Last week, OnePlus launched the OxgenOS 13 and the OnePlus 10T smartphone. After teasing in the Google I/O event, Google started pushing the Android 13 Beta updates. The Android 13 brings significant improvements in privacy and security. OnePlus quickly pushed the Android 13 Developer Preview programme to the OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone. OnePlus also pushed many updates for the smartphone under the programme.

OnePlus 10 Pro

Since it was the Developer Preview updates, those updates didn't include the OxygenOS 13 skin. Earlier, OnePlus had released ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 for the Chinese OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus has now pushed the first OxygenOS 13 Open Beta based on Android 13 for the global units of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Here is a detailed changelog of the update;

  • Upgrades to Quantum Animation Engine 4.0, with a new behavior recognition feature, which recognizes complex gestures and provides optimized interactions.

  • Applies real-world physical motions to animations to make them look more natural and intuitive.

【Efficiency】

  • Adds large folders to the Home screen. You can now open an app in an enlarged folder with just one tap and turn pages in the folder with a swipe.

  • Adds media playback control, and optimizes the Quick Settings experience.

  • Adds more markup tools for screenshot editing.

  • Optimizes Shelf. Swiping down on the Home screen will bring up the Shelf by default.


【Seamless interconnection】

  • Optimizes earphone connectivity to deliver a more seamless experience.

  • Optimizes Bitmoji to offer more Always-On Display animations.

  • Optimizes Insight Always-On Display, with more personalized Always-On Display settings available.

  • Adds an automatic pixelation feature for chat screenshots. The system can identify and automatically pixelate profile pictures and display names in a chat screenshot to protect your privacy.

  • Optimizes Private Safe. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is used to encrypt all files for enhanced security of private files.

  • Adds Kid Space, providing screen time limit, ambient light reminders, and Eye-protecting display features.


【Performance optimization】

  • Optimizes Dolby Sound effects with enhanced spatial sound field perception and more accurate sound sourcing.


【Gaming experience】

  • Upgrades to HyperBoost GPA 4.0 to stabilize the frame rate and balance the performance and power consumption in key scenarios.


Known Issues

  • There is no response when clicking Capture Log after switching Multiple users/System Cloner/Languages. (You need to switch Multiple users/System Cloner/Languages first before capturing the log in the feedback tool).

  • A dot will display abnormally when pairing Bluetooth.

  • The photos might be blurred when taking multiple pictures of people with Ultra Dark mode and zoom out at the same time.

  • The screen will freeze when taking videos in specific scenarios.

  • The pictures might not be saved when taking photos of people by zooming out 3.3x.

  • There will be a black screen when the camera freezes.

  • The videos might show in green when shot in FILM mode.

  • The pictures might be black when taking photos in the dark with Night Mode.

Steps to install the update!


Before installing the update, ensure that your device has at least 30% battery left on your smartphone. The Open Beta updates do not support the career-locked versions. Another thing is to enable Developer Settings before installing the update. Also, make sure to backup your smartphone before installing the update.

  • MP version – Stable Official version

  • DP version – Developer Preview version

  • OBT Version – Open Beta version


How to install OxygenOS 13 in IN & EU units?


The below steps are for installing OxygenOS 13 in IN & EU units and for upgrading from MP and OBT to DP.

  • Copy the downloaded update file to your internal storage.

  • Now, open the Settings app and tap on System.

  • Look for System Updates and open it and tap on the top right icon.

  • Then, choose Local Upgrade and browse the installation package.

  • Click on Upgrade, and it will be upgraded to OxygenOS 13.

  • Once it is done, tap on Restart, and you are good to go.


How to install OxygenOS 13 in NA units?


The steps below are for installing OxygenOS 13 in NA units and upgrading from MP and OBT to DP.

  • Copy the downloaded update file to your internal storage.

  • Download and install the APK on your device.

  • Upon opening the app, tap on the gear icon on the top-right.

  • Now, browse and choose the upgrade package.

  • Upon completion, tap on reboot, and you are good to go.
