Samsung going to Showcase its Hum On!, Waffle and Entrim 4D at SXSW 2016

Samsung is going to Unveil its three secret projects from C-Lab—an innovation program that helps its employees to nurture their own creative business ideas. Namely Hum On!, Waffle and Entrim 4D. These three projects will enhance the use of your smartphone in making music, social network and Virtual Reality experience respectively.

Hum On!

Hum On! is a mobile app that convert your hummed melodies into musical scores. In detail Hun On! works as you record your Hummed melodies at that time instantly this app convert your melodies into the musical notation and than play it back to you. You can also choose your arrangement like R&B, classical or rock. After compilation you can share this on social networks and you can even add this as background music in videos.

“For hundreds of years, music has only been created by a select few, but that will no longer be the case,With Hum On!, we aim to provide a platform where anyone can turn their inspiration into great music.”  – explains David Choi, Creative Leader of the project.

You can also watch the video to understand more accurately about this new app.

Coming to Waffle it is the new social media or we can say content sharing platform which enables users to create a new feed of expandable content, means that the person who did not publish the content can also add to existing related content, as if contributing to a communal graffiti wall.Waffle

“Waffle enables users to add their own perspective to someone else’s content, and vice versa, These doodles, images and messages converge into entirely new content.”- says Joseph Kim, Creative Leader of the project.

This platform is made keeping in mind some of the common limitations of the present social media platforms. Namely, they only allow users to individually publish content. See the Video below to understand the concept of this platform thoroughly.

Now at last we come to Entrim 4D it is the a Motion Headset an accessory to the Virtual Reality with this you will not just able to see through the Virtual Reality, Now with Entrim 4D you can feel it what you are seeing in VR headset.

“Virtual reality shouldn’t be experienced only with the eyes,With Entrim 4D, we hope that people can experience VR the way it was meant to be—with their whole bodies.” –  says Steve Jung, Creative Leader of the project.

Entrim 4D Using a combination of algorithms and Galvanic Vestibular Stimulation (GVS) a technique with which we can send electrical messages to a nerve in the ear. To ensure the best possible VR experience software engineers and biomedical engineering experts, have conducted experiments on more than 1,500 people and developed 30 different movement patterns.

Now you can also see the video see the difference on humans with Entrim 4D and without it.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Supports that Old Quick Charge 2.0

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is here and Samsung is using that year old Quick Charge 2.0 technology to juice up the device. Snapdragon 820 which is present in the latest flagship from Samsung supports Quick Charge 3.0 but still Samsung opted for Quick Charge 2.0. Why?

qualcomm quick charge

We all know Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge has come up in two variants both have different processor. One Variant which runs on Snapdragon 820 and support Quick Charge 820 and the other one runs on Exynos 8890 SoC which does not support Quick Charge 3.0. So, Samsung took decision that both the devices will run with Quick Charge 2.0 technology which is also pretty good.

Quick Charge 2.0 charges 75% faster than non Quick Charge handsets. In just 30-minutes, the 3900mAh battery on the Motorola DROID Turbo can be charged up to 60%. Quick Charge 3.0 charges up to 4 times faster. After 30 minutes using this feature, a 2750mAh battery went from 0% to 80%.

So users this is for you that Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge do not support Quick Charge 3.0.

Top 10 Smartphone SoC’s Until Now

Well, we have various stuff on the top smartphones but users don’t know which are the top smartphone SoCs on the performance basis. To let you make aware of them here we are with top 10 smartphone Socs.

First of all some folks here don’t know what is Soc and what it does. To let them know here’s a tiny little detail of SoCs.

What is SoC (Smartphone Chips)?

A system on a chip or system on chip (SoC or SOC) is an integrated circuit (IC) that integrates all components of a computer or other electronic system into a single chip. The one-liner would be that it is the equivalent of a computer motherboard, including main processor, graphics processor and memory — on a single chip. So its a chip which consists all the graphical processor, rams, etc.

There’s a great variety of SoCs and some major companies those build them are – Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung, Hynix, etc.

SoCs in Smartphones

Since the evolution of Smartphones, big SoCs are present in the them. There’s huge requirement of memory, processing power to run a smartphone and gpus for displays. To tackle this problem big SoCs development companies are making high end SoCs with huge memories, buffer space, GPUs, RAM capacity and other things.

Nowadays, smartphones are using SoCs which have RAM capacity of 3GB, 4GB and we have met with a smartphone having 6GB RAM just few days ago.

So, if you want to buy a Smartphone then do check its System on Chip to better know about it. Here we are listing

Top 10 Smartphone Socs

Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 – It was launched last year and Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, LG G5, Mi 5, Xperia X Performance are smartphones that are packed with the Snapdragon 820 SoC. The Snapdragon 820 scores 136,383 points on AnTuTu Benchmark. Its features:

  • Kryo quad-core CPU

  • eMMC 5.1

  • HDMI 2.0

  • Native 4K display at 60 fps with 120 Hz

  • H.265/HEVC decoding 4K at 60 fps

  • 14 nm FinFET
