• [October 16, 2020]: Redmi 7A devices have finally started receiving the Security patch update for the month of September 2020. The update comes on the V11.0.4.0.QCMMIXM for Global models and the V11.0.3.0.QCMRUXM Firmware version update is rolling out in Russian markets. Apart from the latest Security patch, there’s nothing new in this update. So, this update is only meant to increase the Security patch level of the smartphone.


• [June 30, 2020]: The May 2020 Security patch update has started hitting out the Redmi 7A devices with the Android 10 based MIUI 11 version. The update comes on the MIUI 11.0.1.0.QCMINXM Firmware version and weighs 1.6GB. It brings out the Android 10 goodness & features and many more. • [January 2, 2020]: Redmi has started seeding out the December 2019 Security patch update for the Redmi 7A smartphones. The update is appearing on the V11.0.2.0.PCMINXM Firmware version and weighs around 1.5GB in size. [Update: October 2020 Security Patch] Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Update Tracker

A Couple of days back, Samsung has officially launched the brand new Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) with a 6.5-inch display and Exynos 990 Chipset. In-camera, it features a 12-MP + 8-MP + 12-MP Triple rear camera and a 32-MP single front-facing camera. The device comes in 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage capacity.

• [October 13, 2020]: The Galaxy S20 FE devices have started receiving its first update with the October 2020 Security patch update. The update appears on the G781BXXU1ATJ1 Firmware version, and it is rolling limitedly in various countries. As of now, there’s no official Changelog from the company. So, the update might also include bug fixes for known issues, optimizations, and improvements.

Like all other updates, it is also spinning out in a phased manner and is expected to reach all the smartphones within a week. Vivo V20 launched in India at starting price of Rs. 24,990

Vivo has officially unveiled a new smartphone named V20 in its V series. The brand new Vivo V20 becomes the first device in India to pack with Android 11 out of the box. In the Vivo V20 launch event, the company has also announced that Vivo V20 SE will be launched soon in the country.

Vivo V20 features a 6.44-inch FHD+ display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an Octa-core processor based Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC Chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB onboard storage. Nevertheless, it can be expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Coming to the central part – the camera, it sports a triple rear camera that compromises of 64-MP primary sensor + 8-MP secondary sensor and a 2-MP monochrome sensor. On the front, there’s a 44-MP camera for selfies and video calling. Some of the camera features include 4K Selfie Video, Super Night Selfie 2.0, Slo-Mo Selfie Video, Multi-Style Portrait, etc.

The device runs Android 11 based Funtouch OS 11 (Skin) out of the box and houses a 4,000 mAh battery with 33W FlashCharge support. In connectivity options, there’s Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi etc. Moreover, there’s an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Availability and Price

• The device comes in Midnight Jazz, Sunset Melody and Moonlight Sonata color options. In-price, it costs Rs. 24,990 for 8GB + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 27,990 for 8GB + 256GB storage variant.

• [October 11, 2020]: Realme Narzo 20A smartphones have started picking the September 2020 Security patch update. The update is hitting all the devices on the RMX2050EX_11_A.15 Firmware version. According to the changelog, the update adds the latest Security patch and fixes the maximum exposure time can only be set to 0 in Professional mode of the rear camera issue. Reportedly, the company not included any new features to the device.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro Start Receiving Android 11-Based OxygenOS 11 Update

To recall, in the month of September, OnePlus has started testing the OxygenOS 11 open beta for OnePlus 8 series. Now, the company has begun rolling out the Android-11 based OxygenOS 11 Stable version update for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones. The update is arriving on the OxygenOS 11.IN11DA Firmware version and it comes with a bunch of changelog. As of now, the update is limited to Indian users only and will be released shortly in the other countries too.

What’s new?

Talking about the changelog, the update brings new add-ons, Fresh new UI visual design and optimizations. The new add-ons include gaming tools box for convenient switches, quick reply feature in a small window for social apps, mis-touch prevention feature, Always-on ambient Display function, Insight clock style, 10 new clock styles, shortcut key for Dark Mode, 5 new themes (ocean, space, grassland, and so on), and much more.

The company has also said that OxygenOS 11 will be released shortly in the upcoming days for OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus Nord smartphones.

LG reveals Software update plan for Q4 2020 along with eligible devices [List]

LG is a bit backed in providing software & security updates compared to all the other smartphone brands. To recall, Google has officially released the Android 11 version in the last month, and already many of the smartphones have started experiencing the update. So far, number of the LG mobiles have got the Android 11 updates, and they are still running on the Android 10 versions.

A couple of hours back, LG has shared an official update schedule with a list of devices for the fourth quarter of 2020. As per the release note, LG V50S, LG Q70, and LG X6 (2019) will be getting the performance updates that include bug fixes, improvements, and optimizations.
In addition to the update schedule, the company has released the list of devices eligible for the September 2020 Security patch update. The list of devices includes LG Wing, Q8 (2018), X4 (2019), V50 ThinQ, V50S ThinQ, LG Q61, LG G7 ThinQ, and many more devices.
