Oppo Reno gets Android 11 based ColorOS 11 beta update in India

Oppo has performed an exceptional job in rolling out Android 11 ColorOS 11 to its flagships. Adhering to the June 2021 roadmap, the Chinese giant is sending Android 11 based ColorOS 11 Beta to the standard Oppo Reno units in India. The device debuted in late 2019 in the country with Android 9 (Pie) pre-installed.

As mentioned, the latest firmware for Oppo Reno is rolling out in India. It will probably expand to other regions after ensuring that there are no critical bugs. The Android 11 ColorOS 11 update is out in a beta version. Interested users can register and apply themselves in the first batch of Beta testers from June 29 to July 3.

However, there are some eligibility criteria for this as well. If you are enrolling in the program, make sure your phone has updated to version (Detectable Version): C.37/C.38. Also, Oppo has listed some must-know key points before you register the device for the program:




  • Please backup important data on the phone before updating to avoid data loss.

  • Updating might lead to your device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining.

  • Some third-party applications are not compatible with Android 11. Therefore, after updating these applications might not be available or have technical issues.

To register for the ColorOS 11 (Android 11) Beta update, follow the ‘guide to apply’ in Settings > Software Update > Click the settings icon on the screen > Apply for Beta Version > Update Beta Version.

Once applied, Oppo will review your application in a week and if it is a success, your drive will bag the update soon. However, you might have to wait for the next round in case the application quota is full.

Samsung rolls out the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy M10s

Samsung introduced the Galaxy M10s in 2019, and a year after the successful launch, the company has discontinued it along with a few other M Series smartphones. And now, the device has started receiving a new update with the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 (Skin). The update weighs around 1911.90 MB and carries the firmware version M107FXXU4CUF5, and already many users from India have started getting it.

Concerning changes, the new firmware incorporates a bunch of changes, new features, optimizations, fixes for known issues and loopholes, and improvements to the system and applications.

The update includes Android 11 goodies like Chat bubbles, Smart device controls, One-time permissions and auto-reset, Conversation notifications, built-in screen recorder, Notification history, and so on. Apart from these, the new firmware also includes the July 2021 Security Patch.

The new update follows the staggered rollout, and it may take some time as it needs to be verified. After successful verification, all the users of Galaxy M10s will start getting it within a week. Likewise, users can also head over to Settings>Software updates and check for the updates.

  • [June 28, 2021]: Xiaomi Mi A3 is receiving a new software update globally. The build indulges the current security maintenance, June 2021 patch to the device. The update arrives on firmware version V12.0.11.0.RFQMIXM weighs about 20MB in size. This is a minor bump in the safety level and does not carry any new additions. Though, the update brings fixes for some minor bugs and optimized system performance.

  • [August 11, 2020]: Xiaomi has started spinning out the August 2020 Security patch update for Mi A3. The new update is rolling out globally with firmware version V11.0.20.0.QFQMIXM weighs 35.55 MB in size. The company has not included any new changes/ features to the device via this update. So, the update generally comes with bug fixes for user-reported issues and it may also include a few improvements.

  • [July 29, 2020]: Xiaomi Mi A3 is receiving July 2020 security patch in some parts of Europe. The build bears the firmware version V11.0.5.0.QFQEUXM. It is a usual security update that specifically addresses bugs and vulnerabilities to enhance your device's security and does not bring any new features.


The OTA update will be pushed in different batches and may take some time to reach all the users based on their location and carrier. If you don’t receive a notification for the update in the next few days, you may need to manually check for the update by navigating to Settings  > Software Update > Check for the Update.

Poco M2 grabs a software optimization update in India

Xiaomi is dedicatedly seeding out updates to all of its eligible devices. The company is still following the rollout schedule for its latest skin, MIUI 12.5 with all-new features. Presently, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco M2 is receiving a new software update in India that brings system optimizations.

The latest update for the Poco M2 is rolling out on firmware version V12.0.4.0.QJRINXM. While the build is presently live in India, the units in other countries will grab similar treatment soon.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G arrives at AI Benchmark site with Dimensity 1200

OnePlus is preparing a device that will be the successor of last year's launch, OnePlus Nord. The upcoming device will be named as OnePlus Nord 2 5G which is likely to launch in July 2021. It seems that the rumors stand true as the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is spotted at AI Benchmarks powering Dimensity 1200 chipset.

The device's listing at the AI Benchmarks reveals that it will equip Dimensity 1200 processed coupled with 8GB RAM. OnePlus Nord 2 5G will run the latest stable channel, Android 11 out of the box.

Oppo F17 receives stable ColorOS 11 update based on Android 11

Every month Oppo releases a roadmap for the deployment of Android 11 based ColorOS 11. According to the June 2021 rollout schedule, the Oppo A53A54, Reno, Reno2 Z, and the Oppo F17 will grab the package this month. OnePlus Nord N200 receives its first update with OxygenOS 11.0.1.0

A week back OnePlus announced the Nord N200 5G powered by Snapdragon 480 5G chipset. The smartphone runs the latest stable channel, Android 11 along with OxygenOS 11 on top. The very next day after the announcement, the company promised to give it four years of update support. Now, OnePlus Nord N200 is grabbing its first update that bumps the skin level to OxygenOS 11.0.1.0.

The latest software brings the May 2021 security patch that arrives on firmware version A600GNUBU9CUE3. The OTA will hit the remaining countries by the next couple of weeks. According to Samsung’s documentation, the May patch resolves several security vulnerabilities and risks from vectors.   • [October 16, 2018]: Samsung starts rolling out September 2018 security patch for its Galaxy A6 units in Europe. The latest build bears the firmware version A600FNXXU3ARJ1. This is a minor update that does not add any new additions. Internally, the patch includes 64 fixes for the Android OS and 18 fixes are added for Samsung’s own vulnerable places, including a leak in the clipboard software.


As the update is having a phase-wise rollout, it may take some time to reach all the units. Xiaomi is known for supporting its devices for a long period of time. They roll out several MIUI version updates even to their old devices. The Xiaomi Redmi 7 was launched back in 2019. The brand has now started rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update to the device. This update is currently being rolled out in China.
