Redmi 8, 8A, 8A Dual starts receiving MIUI 12.5 (Android 11) Update [Download]

Xiaomi's MIUI 12.5 skin is a minor upgrade over the MIUI 12 that serves as a bridge to reach MIUI 13. Earlier this year, the Redmi 8 trio has already received the original version of the customized skin. Yet again, the Redmi 8, 8A, and 8A Dual are grabbing a bump with MIUI 12.5 which is based on Android 11.

Presently, the new software for the Redmi 8 trio is rolling out in India. For the standard variant, the build carries the firmware version V12.5.1.0.QCNINXM. While it arrives on V12.5.1.0.QCPINXM and V12.5.1.0.QCQINXM for Redmi 8A and 8A Dual respectively. Alongside the all-new features, the security patch will also be upgraded to July 2021.

Google Photos Memories arriving as a widget to Android devices

At the Google I/O 2021, the company said to release an enhanced memories function to Google Photos. Following this, the Android users are finally receiving an update that provides a shortcut to having a glimpse of your memories without opening the app specifically. To be more clear, The update added a Memories widget that was only limited to iOS users since now.

When you visit the Google Photos app, you will see some albums named Memories. These albums often arrive as a pop-up notification on your Android smartphone. Also, they appear at the top of the Photos app for easy reach.

As the name suggests, Memories display pictures from the past based on certain criteria. For instance, pictures clicked on the same day in a different year, images that have similar colors, similar people, photos taken at specific times, and so on.

The Memories widget is targeted at those who don’t actually go to the Google Photos app but wish to see the old pictures time-to-time. This step by Google will probably get more people to upload their photos to Google Photos.

As expected, the update is presently limited to certain users. Finally, the users who are running version 5.52.0.0387241369 have started seeing the new widget. Whereas, the feature has been available for iOS users for almost ten months now.

Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G is receiving Android 11 Realme UI 2.0 update

Where Android 12 is on the verge of releasing this fall, Realme is treating its Narzo 30 Pro 5G smartphone with Android 11 along with Realme UI 2.0. Despite launching this year in February, the smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 10 based Realme UI. However, after the successful testing of the package, the Narzo 30 Pro 5G is finally receiving a stable update of the latest build.

The latest software for the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G is unfurling through firmware version RMX2117_11.C.03. To grab the current stable build, the user needs to be on the version number RMX2111PU_11.A.35/ RMX2111PU_11.A.37/ or RMX2111PU_11.A.39.

The fresh build will endorse all the expected Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 goodies to the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G. The latest stable OS makes numerous changes to the performance and user experience by introducing chat bubbles, native screen recorder, one-time permissions, smart device controls, and much more.

Furthermore, the Realme UI 2.0 serves as a cherry on the cake. The customized skin will inculcate enhanced customization, system improvements, new seamless fun for Gen Z design, and smart multimedia controls to the device. In March 2021, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 10 S smartphone as a part of the Note 10 flagship. The phone features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-core processor-based MediaTek Helio G95 SoC.   • [June 12, 2020]: Xiaomi has announced that it's POCO F2 Pro will get Android 11 Beta 1 soon. Android 11 beta release for the device will have an MIUI custom skin on top. There is no information about the MIUI version yet. It will be cleared in the coming few days. In the future, we might see some more phones on the list that are getting Android 11 beta. The new SwiftKey update can sync Android's clipboard with a Windows PC

SwiftKey is a virtual third-party keyboard app by Microsoft for both Android and iOS devices. Since its introduction in 2010, the software had received numerous updates. The new update is knocking with a new feature that enables the user to sync Android's clipboard with a Windows PC.

As of now, the new feature is currently in the beta stage. To try this out, you can flash the latest beta of the SwiftKey app from the Play Store link provided at the end of the page.

Once the installation is complete, visit the app's Settings > Rich input > Clipboard. You will see a new window opening up, in there, enable the “Sync clipboard history to the cloud” toggle.

Once you've enabled the toggle, visit your Windows 10 PC settings > Clipboard. Under this section, turn on the “Clipboard history” and “Sync across devices” options. After following all the above-mentioned steps, you will be able to access your Android device clipboard history on the PC. Interestingly, this feature works both ways.

To access the smartphone’s clipboard history on your Windows 10 PC, you can simply use the “windows+V” keyboard shortcut. Before this, do not that the feature will only show the history for an hour. While the last copied item will display on the prediction bar in the SwiftKey app.

Also, do not worry about your privacy as the clipboard data will be encrypted, plus it will not be linked to any Microsoft account. The stable release is still undercover but we will make sure to let you know soon as we get any other updates.

OnePlus Nord 2 gets OxygenOS 11.3.A.08 update with camera optimizations

Last month, OnePlus launched the successor of its highly anticipated Nord smartphone, OnePlus Nord 2 5G. The smartphone comes with Android 11 based OxygenOS 11.3 on top. The first software update for the device arrived with OxygenOS 11.3 A.05. Yet again, the company is releasing another update to Nord 2. The new firmware brings OxygenOS 11.3.A.08 update along with some camera optimizations.

As posted on the OnePlus community forum, the build is arriving on the firmware version 11.3.A.08. The package weighs 248.6MB which is presently live in India. Regarding changes, the update adds improvements and optimizations to the smartphone.

To be more precise, the build improves the system's stability. Plus, it brings improvements in the camera and system app. Getting into details, the shooting performance of the camera app is improved.
