Telegram adds new features: chat themes, interactive emoji, and more

In the race of updates and features, the instant messaging app Telegram is leading as it frequently adds new features and improvements. For the second time in the month, the platform is introducing new features and improvements with the latest stable channel version 8.0.1.

The new Telegram version brings new customization options and several other improvements. This includes individual chats and detailed read receipts in groups, the ability to record video and audio from live streams, and more.

Chat Themes


Newly added chat themes allow the user to personalize the look and feel of individual chats. There are eight new themes, each featuring a unique vibrant background. Click on the Change color option under the chat Header to set a theme. To mention, there are more chat schemes underway as per Telegram.

Animated Emoji


You can see a fresh set of animated emoji including the heart, thumbs up, and firecrackers. The emoji now show a full-screen effect and are more interactive. If both the parties have the chat open, the animations and vibrations will be played simultaneously.

Detailed Read Receipts


The group-exclusive feature will now enable you to see which group members have read the message. The text will be marked as 'read' even if one member sees it. Earlier, the message was marked as 'read' only when everyone had read it.

Live Recording


The admins can now record live streams and video chats. Moreover, he has the flexibility to chose to record both audio-video or only audio. Once the recording is completed, the file will be instantly uploaded to the admin's Saved Messages.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 series joins One UI 3.1.1 update list

Though Samsung created the One UI 3.1.1 skin especially for its foldable devices. The skin is also unfurling to Galaxy smartphones but, with fewer features. This includes Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy A52 5G, and many more devices. Joining the long list is the Galaxy Tab S7 series—  Galaxy Tab S7+, Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Tab S7 FE.

The One UI 3.1.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S7 series is presently rolling out in Europe. While the units in other regions will also get the update soon. The software is bundled with the build number T976BXXU2BUI1 that weighs around 1.4GB in size. With all-new features inculcated by the fresh skin, the package also enhances the security by adding September 2021 patch.

Regarding features, not all the One UI 3.1.1 traits will be onboard but, it still brings new addition, fixes, and improvements.

  • Improves multitasking usability including the three-split view function.

  • Adds Drag & Split option that enables the user to open a split window by dragging the screen.

  • Adds Multi-Active window that allows adjusting the height and width of the window apps

  • [September 20, 2021]: Samsung is releasing the current security maintenance, September 2021 to the Galaxy Tab S7+. The update bears the firmware version T976BXXU2BUI1 and is rolling out in several regions. This includes Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Netherlands, and the UK. This is a minor security update so do not expect any other changes or additions.

  • [July 1, 2021]: Samsung has begun seeding the July 2021 Security Patch update to the Galaxy Tab S7+. The build bears the build number T735XXU1AUF4 which is unfurling in Vietnam. Regarding changes, it includes improvements for Camera picture quality and adds the monthly security patch.

  • [March 9, 2021]: The Galaxy Tab S7+ recently receive One UI 3.1 update. The update includes several improvements and features like seamless transitions, smart new camera features, eye-comfort shield, private share, and more. The device gets build T9700XM1BUBB weighing approximately 858.15 MB. Also, it carries the March 2021 security patch and other new attributes as claimed by the brand. You can read the changelog here.

  • [January 20, 2021]: Samsung has started spinning out One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G users. The updating is rolling out on the T976NKOU1BUA8 Firmware version that weighs nearly 2.4GB in size. The build carries all the features of Android 11 & One UI 3.1 which you can read here.

  • [September 20, 2021]: Samsung is releasing the September 2021 security patch to the Galaxy A10s. The update is rolling out in Ecuador via the firmware version A107MUBU5CUH1. Besides, it also brings device stability and several general bug fixes. 

  • [July 8, 2021]: The Galaxy A10s is receiving the Android 11 update in Malaysia and Vietnam. The build arrives via firmware version A107FXXU8CUG1. Along with the current stable operating channel comes the July 2021 Android security patch. With several fixes and optimizations, the patch also addresses the much-reported Android-auto bug.   • [June 18, 2020]: Samsung starts rolling out June 2020 security patch for Galaxy A10s in Malaysia. The update comes with the firmware version A107FXXU6BTF1. It brings bug fixes that were posted last month in Samsung & Google community forums, Security loophole fixes, and the latest security patch. OnePlus 9 & OnePlus 9 Pro picks up OxygenOS 11.2.9.9 update

OnePlus is constant in releasing updates for its current premium flagship— the OnePlus 9 series. To polish the user experience and reduce the system lags, the company is sending another software update to the flagship. The new build for the OnePlus 9 & OnePlus 9 Pro brings OxygenOS 11.2.9.9.

The latest update for the OnePlus 9 & OnePlus 9 Pro is presently rolling out in India, Europe, and North America. or the OnePlus 9 smartphone, it appears with the firmware version 11.2.9.9.LE25DA for Indian users. While the number varies to 11.2.9.9.LE25BA for European users. For the North American model, it arrives on version 11.2.9.9.LE25AA.

WhatsApp mute videos feature is finally unfurling to iOS beta users

This year in February, WhatsApp introduced a mute video feature for Android beta users. After almost seven months, the feature is now finally making its way to the iOS beta users. The option will also be accompanied by a new design. However, we have no words regarding the stable rollout of the update.

The beta users on iOS can finally see a redesigned toggle to convert video to a gif and a mute video option. Also, the size of the video is immediately updated every time the user tries to edit the video. The mute video feature is live for all iOS beta users. In another case, you may have to wait a while for the next update which will have the feature on board.
