OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite receives May 2022 Security patch update!

OnePus has started pushing a new update for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite. The update comes with the firmware version number CPH2381_11.A.08​. It is rolling out via Over the Air (OTA) and is live for Indian users. OnePlus announced the details of the update through its community app. It is rolling out in batches and will take some time to reach your unit. The broader rollout of the update is expected to begin in the following days. Apart from other changes, the update bundles the May 2022 Security patch. OnePlus has optimized a couple of things relating to the system, camera and Bluetooth. The update doesn't bring any new features. 

The optimization of the system consists of optimizing power consumption and user interface. Another area where the improvement lies is in communication network stability. OnePlus also improves the stability of the camera with the update. It also gets better Bluetooth connectivity now. Here is a detailed changelog of the May 2022 update;

Head to Settings, find Software Updates and tap on Check for updates. It will fetch the update only if it is available on your smartphone. If you don't wish to wait for the update, you can download it from here. The users can install the update using the manual update option. To install, tap on the Upgrade from Files option after opening the Software Updates menu. Although, we won't recommend updating manually because it isn't worth the effort. The update isn't huge and doesn't bring any significant changes to your device. Do let us know if you have updated to the latest version.

Poco launched a new device to its F lineup with the name Poco F4 GT in April 2022. It was launched in Europe with a price tag of EUR 599, which converts to Rs 50000. The device is a global variant of the Chinese Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. It is available in three color options, namely Knight Silver, Cyber Yellow, and Stealth Black. The smartphone sports a 6.67 inches AMOLED display with a punch hole in the center. Underneath, it features the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The chipset pairs with 8 /1 2GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Poco F4 GT

It has a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs around 210 grams. The Poco F4 GT features a triple rear camera setup on the optics side. It has a primary 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor and pairs with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. Further, it also gets a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it features a 20MP Sony IMX 596 sensor. This is backed by a 4700 mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging tech. The device runs on Android 12 out of the box based on MIUI 13.

It is pushed via Over the Air and will take some time to reach your device. It is a pity that Poco still includes April 2022 Security Patch with the update. Samsung pushes June 2022 Security patch for Galaxy S21 Series!

The best Android OEM after Google to push updates is Samsung. Yesterday (May 31), Samsung started to push the Security Patch for its 2020 flagships. The Galaxy S21 series, which includes Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, receives the new update. Last month, Samsung started rolling out the latest May 2022 Security patch. The June 2022 patch was first obtained for the Galaxy Tab S7 series in Europe. As of writing this article, the Galaxy S21 series only in Europe receives the update. It comes with the firmware version number G998BXXU5CVEB. The update is live in Germany, and it will soon roll out in other European countries.

We expect the update to be live in other markets in the following weeks. The update fixes a few vulnerabilities and improves privacy features. It also brings stability to all the smartphones in Galaxy S21 Series. The Galaxy S21 users in Germany can install the update by heading to Settings. From here, tap on Software Updates and tap on Download and install updates to install the same. Since the update is rolling out via Over the Air (OTA), reaching your device may take some time. One can also install the update manually by downloading the firmware file.

OPPO Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro gets ColorOS 12 (Android 12) Update!

A month ago, OPPO started to test the ColorOS 12 update to a limited number of the OPPO Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro users. The update was based on Android 12 and was live in a few countries like Indonesia and India. One has to admit the fact that OPPO has increased the speed of pushing updates. Today, OPPO has started pushing the ColorOS 12 update for both devices. It took them a month to fix all the issues present in earlier updates. The update is limited to a smaller number of units and will be live for all units soon. The wider rollout will start only after the existing updated users give a green signal. 

The Android 12 update will be the last major update for both smartphones. It was launched back in 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. OPPO has announced the details of the update through a community post. As per them, the update for OPPO Reno 3 Pro is live for the Indian and Indonesian units. In contrast, the update for OPPO Reno 3 is only live in Indonesia. Your firmware should be on C.23 on both smartphones to receive the new update. The update is also live for the Chinese units of Reno 3, and it must be running on C.14 to become eligible for the update. The Chinese Reno 3 Pro has already received a stable update.



Head to the Settings app and then to Software Updates and tap on Check for Updates for the latest update. The new update comes with the build number F.30. OPPO launched the ColorOS 12 back in November 2021. The significant changes include a new central theme and improved privacy features. It came with a new user interface and provided a cross-screen connection between your PC and mobile. OPPO also includes better battery optimization and optimization in various other areas.

OnePlus Nord 2 gets OxygenOS 12.1 Open Beta 2!

OnePlus started rolling out OxygenOS 12 Open Beta update for the OnePlus Nord 2 a month ago. Now, they started pushing the OxygenOS 12.1 Open Beta 2 update for the smartphone with fixes for major issues found in Open Beta 1.

OPPO F17 and A73 gets updated to Android 12 based on ColorOS 12!

In April, OPPO rolled out the details regarding the update schedule of its ColorOS 12 based on Android 12. After two weeks, OPPO even pushed the closed beta update for the users of OPPO F17 and A73. Today, OPPO has started pushing the stable update for these devices. The update is live in many countries, including China and India. OPPO made the announcement regarding the update in its community forum.

Vivo T2X tipped to pack Dimensity 1300 SoC and 6,000 mAh battery

The Vivo T2 series was supposed to make its debut in May. However, due to some unknown reasons, the launch was postponed to June. Now, the lineup is scheduled to set foot in the Chinese market on June 6. Ahead of the official launch, the Vivo T2X has managed to leak online, revealing some of its key details. Let's take a look at the expected upcoming handset.

To recall, the specifications of the vanilla T2 model have been already confirmed by the company. FYI, the Vivo T2X will be the most affordable offering from the lineup. The render leaks claim to reveal the display, processor, battery details, and charging capacity of the budget device.

The upcoming Vivo T2X will feature a 6.58-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution, according to the rumors. In addition, the front panel can house a 16 MP camera for selfies and video calls. On the rear side, the device is likely to carry a dual-camera setup. The capacity of the unit is tipped as a 50MP main lens and a 2MP secondary snapper.

Under the hood, the Vivo T2X is suggested to draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC. Moreover, an impressive 6,000 mAh power cell might keep the system working. This battery will support 44W fast charging out of the box. Also, it will weigh approx 202 grams and measure 9.21mm in thickness.

Moreover, the leaks claim that the Vivo T2X could cost about ¥1,000. At the time of writing, this is all we could gather about the upcoming Vivo T2X smartphone. Anyway, the official details of the handset will be revealed on June 6. That means we don't have to wait for long now.

Samsung has introduced another M-series smartphone: the Galaxy M13. The device was running around the rumor mill for some time. Now, the company has silently made it official. Here's what the latest budget segment handset packs!

On the front, Samsung Galaxy M13 is built around a 6.6-inch IPS LCD Infinity-V display with a water-drop notch cutout at the top center. The panel offers a Full HD+ resolution. Also, the device packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.
