Oppo Reno 7Z 5G and F21 Pro joins the Android 12 based ColorOS 12 beta party

Oppo unveiled the ColorOS 12 update timeline for Q2 2022. Adhering to its schedule, the company is releasing the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta update for the Oppo Reno 7Z 5G and Oppo F21 Pro.

The announcement was made through an official post on the Oppo community forum. According to the statement, the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta is available in Indonesia and India for the Oppo Reno 7Z 5G and F21 Pro respectively.


Interested users can register themselves from June 17 to June 24. Although, the company is recruiting only 5,000 testers for the handsets in each region. Therefore, the user needs to make sure to register as soon as possible to be a first batch candidate.


Before applying for the beta build, ensure your respective smartphone operates the basic version. For the Reno 7Z, it is A.14, while for the F21 Pro, it is A.13. Afterward, follow the below step for registration:

  1. Head to Settings > Software Update

  2. Click on the Gear Icon at the top right corner

  3. Tap on Apply for Beta Version > Update Beta Version

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and click submit


The beta software will reach out to the selected applicants within 3 working days. In case the OTA does not arrive on your device, wait for the next round of recruitment (if there’s any).

As you already know, this is a beta package therefore, it will carry a lot of bugs and glitches like overheating and lagging. Lastly, before updating to the beta version, take a backup of your important files to avoid data loss.

Poco X4 GT arrives on TDRA website, confirms launch in UAE

Poco has scheduled an event for June 23 which will mark the launch of Poco X4 GT and Poco F4 5G. To recall, Poco X4 GT has already bagged multiple certifications. In the latest development, the upcoming phone has made an appearance on the TDRA website, confirming its launch in UAE.  fghjhghjkkjh

Ahead of the official launch, we already have a pretty good idea about the Poco X4 GT, thanks to the major certifications. The phone will sit over the Poco X3 GT that was launched last year. At the upfront, the Poco X4 GT will feature a 6.6-inch FHD+ LTPS LCD screen which is IP53 rated for dust and splash resistance. The panel will offer a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Underneath, the phone will draw power from the Dimensity 8100 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. In addition, the Poco X4 GT will come pre-installed with Android 12 OS tossed with MIUI 13 skin iteration on top.

For optics, the upcoming GT moniker device by Poco will carry a 64MP triple rear camera. Alongside, there will be an 8MP ultra-wide lens and another 2MP macro snapper. Moreover, the smartphone will ship with a 5,080 mAh battery with a 67W fast charging support.

OnePlus 10 Pro receives Android 13 Beta 2 update based on OxygenOS 13

Last month, the Android 13 Developer Preview Program went live for the OnePlus 10 Pro. It seems like the first stage is successfully tested as the company is now releasing the second beta for the device. The Android 13 Beta 2 intended to brush off the bugs and glitches present in the previous build for a more polished experience.

Like before, this program is also meant for the developers and other advanced users. These early adopters play around with the software to create a better user experience. In order to start testing the second beta, the user needs to go through the first Android 13 Beta version as well.

With Android 13 Beta 2, "we've fixed some of the most common issues to let you experience a more stable version of Android 13 in advance" says OnePlus. Here are some of these problems that are fixed in the latest build. Also, it integrates the May 2022 security patch to enhance privacy.

Although the Bets 2 resolves some glitches present in Beta 1, it is still an unstable build. Therefore, this firmware will also be loaded with lots of bugs that hinder the user experience. Poco C40 with 6,000 mAh battery and 13MP dual rear camera announced

As announced, Poco has unveiled a new budget smartphone in the global market. The device falls under the C-series segment labeled as Poco C40. It has been a part of leaks for some time now. Here are the official details of the first entry-level handset by the company.

The Poco C40 features a 6.71-inch HD+ LCD display with a water drop notch cut out at the top center. The panel offers a screen resolution of 1650 × 720 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. In addition, a 6,000 mAh battery keeps the Poco C40 working with an 18W fast charging support.

Under the helm, an octa-core JLQ JR510 processor powers the Poco C40 paired with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. For software, it comes pre-installed with Android 11 OS tossed with MIUI 13 skin iteration on top.

In terms of camera, the Poco C40 caries a dual-rear camera module alongside an LED flash. The setup consists of a 13MP primary lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the other side, there's a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video calls.

To mention, the company ships the device with a 10W charging adapter. To serve the security, there's a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The other notable features include a Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro-SD card slot, Dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Glonass, and Galileo.

The Poco C40 will arrive in Power Black, Coral Green, and Poco Yellow color variants. However, the pricing details of the handset are not revealed by the company. The leaks suggest it could cost around $177.

  • [June 17, 2022]: The Galaxy M23 5G is receiving a new update with June 222 security patch. Arriving on the firmware version M236BXXU1AVF1, the build is rolling out in European countries. The other countries will also get the update in the coming days.


As always, the update is having a phase-wise rollout. Therefore, it may take some time to reach all the units. In the meantime, you can head to Settings > Software updates > Security updates to check the update manually. Also, we suggest you switch over to a WiFi network while flashing the update to avoid carrier data charges.

OnePlus Nord 2 gets OxygenOS A.21 update with June 2022 security patch!

The OnePlus Nord 2 was the first smartphone by OnePlus to feature a MediaTek chipset in the Indian market. It was a successor to the first mid-range OnePlus device, i.e., Nord, launched in 2020. Recently, OnePlus pushed the stable OxygenOS 12 (Android 12) update to the Open Beta users. It was a massive update with many new features and bug fixes. The update is in a staged rollout and will take some more time to reach all the Nord 2 units. So, OnePlus has rolled out an incremental update to the OnePlus Nord 2 users over the OxygenOS 11 A.20 update. It included the April 2022 Security patch along with some bug fixes. Now, OnePlus has started rolling the A21 update to the Nord 2 smartphone. It is live in the Indian and European markets.

The update comes with the build number DN2101_11_A.21 for the Indian units. While in Europe, it comes with firmware version number DN2103_11_A.21​. It is rolling out via Over the Air and will be live to all users in the following days.

The update does not bring any major changes. However, it does increase privacy by integrating the June 2022 security patch. These minor modifications are also necessary for the device to keep the user experience up to date.

OnePlus 8 series receives ColorOS 12.1 C.29 update with new fixes

Since the release of ColorOS 12, the Chinese tech giant is delivering minor bumps to the OnePlus 8 series to ensure a seamless experience. In the latest development, a new update is rolling out for the family, including the T-Mobile variant— OnePlus 8OnePlus 8 Pro, and OnePlus 8T. The update for all the models is based on OxygenOS 12.1.
