DuckDuckGo will now prevent apps from tracking Android users

Reportedly, 87% of the apps send user data to Google, while 68% send it to Facebook. But now you can take control over it via a new feature introduced by DuckDuckGo. The new tool by the company will stop apps from tracking Android users. Let's take the feature into detail.

The news was revealed via the official blog post by DuckDuckGo. According to the company, the tool will block "trackers it identifies in other apps from third-party companies."

The new privacy feature is in-built in DuckDuckGo's privacy-focused browser app and works across Android devices. Keep in note that neither the tool is not rolling out as a part of an update nor you can download it separately.

Once the users enable the App Tracking Protection, the app will run in the background as you use your phone. The feature will automatically identify when an app is about to send your data to a third-party tracker. Moreover, it will prevent the app to do so.

In addition, you can also see a real-time view of trackers that the tool has blocked and where your data would've been going. "We are continually working to identify and protect against new trackers, so you can rest easy knowing you’re getting the most up-to-date protection," says the company.

Furthermore, the company adds that the feature isn't a VPN, but will act like one. "This is because App Tracking Protection uses a local ''VPN connection'' which means that it works its magic right on your smartphone. However, App Tracking Protection is different from VPNs because it never routes app data through an external server," DuckDuckGo explained.

Motorola Moto G200

It is a successor of Moto G100 launched in March this year. The smartphone features a 6.8 inch LCD HDR10 display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Also, the panel is IP52 rated for splash resistance. It draws power from the Snapdragon 888+ chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256 GB of default storage.

Moto G200

In the optics department, the device has a 16MP snapper housed on the front side. While a 108MP primary sensor sits at the back panel along with a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera that also acts as a macro lens and a depth sensor. The device packs a 5,000 mAh battery inside a plastic frame that supports 33W fast charging. As per Motorola, 15 minutes of charging is enough for the device to last for a day.

Price: Moto G200 starts costing from €450, offering a lot of performance for a less budget.

Motorola Moto G71

Motorola Moto G71 has an OLED panel that offers a 6.4” display and 60Hz refresh rate. It supports Dolby Atmos and has an IP52 rated water-repellent design. The 5G smartphone equips Snapdragon 695 under the hood paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

Moto G71

The Moto G71 5G has a triple rear camera indulging a 50MP main lens, 8MP ultrawide module, and a 2MP macro sensor. It also is backed up by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 30W of fast charging over a USB-C 2.0 port

Price and availability: The Moto G71 will be available in Europe in a few weeks for €300. This will further be followed by other markets including India, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Motorola Moto G51

The Motorola Moto G51 stands somewhere between G200 and G71. The display is upgraded with a 6.8-inch size and a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers 5G connectivity based on Snapdragon 480+ SoC. The device arrives in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB which is expandable via a dedicated microSD slot.

Moto G51

The battery level of Moto G51 remains the same while the charging capacity is reduced to 10W. For shooting purposes, it carries a triple camera setup led by a 50MP main camera. The other two lenses include an 8MP ultra-wide snapper and a 2MP sensor to measure depth.

Price and availability: Moto G51 is a pocket-friendly device costing €230 with Dolby Atmos entertainment functions. Initially, the device will launch in Europe followed by India, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.

Motorola Moto G41

We can say that the Moto G41 is a budget G71 with no 5G connectivity. The screen remains the same at 6.4 inches OLED with a 60Hz refresh rate. An Helio G85 chipset fuels the device which offers two storage variants— 64GB + 4GB RAM and 128GB + 6GB RAM. But this is expandable so there's no need to worry about configuration.

Moto G41

For capturing photos, it compromises with a 48MP main camera which is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens which also serves as a macro sensor. But on the standby front, the device provides a longer time with 30W of fast charging support.

Price and availability: The Moto G41 is tagged for €250. The European region will get the device first. Later, it will make way to Latin America and the Middle East.

Motorola Moto G31

Moto G31 fuels the Helio G85 chipset under a 6.4-inch OLED display. The panel offers 1080 pixel resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Again, it lacks 5G connectivity and has only 4GB RAM against 64 and 128 GB storage variants.

Moto G31

On the camera and battery front, the device resembles Moto G51. It has a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor while the battery is compromised to support 10W charging.

Price and availability: The Moto G31 is the cheapest of all costing €200. The device will hit Europe India, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia in a few weeks.
