Android Auto 7.7 arrives as a tricky update with bug fixes and new issues

While the major “Coolwalk” build is still awaited, Google is releasing minor updates to make the Android Auto experience more seamless. The latest build labeled Android Auto 7.7 is quite a tricky update. The version resolves some issues for the Galaxy S22 owners. However, it introduced some new bugs for other users.

Android Auto 7.7 resolves the problem where the Galaxy S22 owners were not able to connect their phone to their car's head unit. As gathered from the Google support threads, the issue occurred only while using the Galaxy S22. The other phones were connected without any disturbance to the same car with the same cable.

Moreover, the user complained that when connected via a USB cable, the Galaxy S22 will simply charge. It did not provide any features required on a car's infotainment system. In other cases, a change of cables was enough to operate the Android Auto connection without issue. However, for some users, the cable switch did not work.

Finally, the issue is no longer prevailing, thanks to the Android Auto version 7.7. The Galaxy S22 users can easily connect their devices to the car without any hardship.

Unfortunately, the latest build is not a cure-all for all Android Auto users. The new reports indicate a new common issue, which is that the Android Auto will connect but simply show a black screen. Well, hopefully, this issue will be addressed soon as well.

Android Auto 7.7 is steadily rolling out to all users. The Android Auto app on your phone might have been automatically updated in the background. If not, you can head to the Play Store and check for updates manually.
