Xiaomi Redmi 9 receiving MIUI 12 update along with November 2020 Security patch

After the successful rollout of the MIUI 12 update for all the other smartphones, Xiaomi started seeding out the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi 9 devices. The update is spinning out on the MIUI V12.0.1.0.QJCMIXM Firmware version, and it’s currently rolling out Globally.

What’s new?

As per the changelog, the update appears with the new Control center, optimizations, November 2020 Security patch update, Watermarks, and Fullscreen mode for Camera. The update might also include bug fixes for known/ reported issues. The performance and stability are expected to be increased by this update. The changelog of this update is as follows.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Note 9 5G, and Note 9 4G Edition's launched in China

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has launched the 5G variants of both Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro 5G in its home country China. Talking about the differences, these 5G devices’ specifications are a bit different from the previously launched 4G smartphones.

Talking about the price, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G starts from CNY 1599 (Approx. Rs. 17,961). Whereas the basic model of Note 9 5G starts from CNY 1299 (Approx. Rs. 14,592). Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 9 4G Edition’s basic model is priced at CNY 999 (Approx. Rs. 11,222).

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G specifications

The 5G device couples with a 6.67-inch FHD+ display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and it comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Snapdragon 750G processor paired with Adreno 619 GPU. Samsung Galaxy A02s and A12 Announced With 6.5" screens and 5,000 mAh battery

The Korean Giant -Samsung is struggling very hard to make its network more robust and Active by launching smartphones regularly. In a launch event today, Samsung has announced two new smartphones under the Galaxy-A series, which are named as Galaxy A02s and A12. The Galaxy A02s will be the successor or next generation of Galaxy A01, which was launched previously in December 2019. Simultaneously, Galaxy A12 will follow up with the Galaxy A11, which was introduced back in March 2019.

The 6.5-inch HD+ water-drop notch display comes with a triple rear camera setup, including a 13-MP primary camera + 2-MP depth sensor and a 2-MP Macro lens. On the front, there’s a 5-MP camera for selfies and video chats. It packs with octa-core processor based Snapdragon 450. Chipset and is clocked at 1.8GHz.

Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro starts receiving the Android 11 Stable update

After the successful rollout of the updates to many smartphones, Xiaomi has now started seeding out the Android 11 Stable update to both the Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro smartphones. The update is spinning out on the V12.2.1.0.RJACNXM Firmware version for the Mi 10 Pro and the V12.2.1.0.RJKCNXM Firmware version for the Redmi K30 Pro. As of now, the update is currently limited only to China and is expected to release shortly in all the other countries too.

What’s new?

Talking about the changelog, the update brings the new Android 11 goodness, features, changes and much more. Samsung Galaxy A50s and A70 receiving One UI 2.5 update along with November 2020 Security patch

Samsung has started seeding out the One UI 2.5 update along with November 2020 Security patch to both Galaxy A50s and A70 smartphones. The update is rolling out on the A507FNXXU5CTK3 Firmware version for Galaxy A50s and A705FNXXU5CTK4 Build number for Galaxy A70. In terms of availability, the A70 update is currently limited only to the European markets and A50s update is limitedly rolling in Vietnam. However, it doesn’t take much time to release in other countries as the update already exists in Europe and Vietnam.

What’s new?

As per the changelog/release note, the update brings new WiFi and many new features like Bitmoji support on Always On Display, Keyboard Youtube search feature, Split Keyboard support on Landscape mode, etc. In the messages section, the update brings a new feature through which the users can call a person who’s contact is saved as pre-configured SOS message contact. Now, users can share location via SOS for every 30 minutes for 24 hours.

Talking about the new WiFi, the nearby WiFi router’s quality can be measured, and the information will be displayed as Very Fast, Fast, Normal, or Slow. However, you can also turn off this feature by navigating to the “Network Quality Information Display” section from settings. The other new WiFi feature allows users to request the password of nearby routers from nearby people who are saved in their contact list and connected to the respective router.

Apart from the features mentioned above, this software update might also include bug fixes for known/reported issues, improvements, enhancements, etc. The performance and stability of the smartphone are expected to be increased by this update.

OnePlus 5 embraces OxygenOS 10.0.1 update

In case if you believe OnePlus 5 is breathing its last, then the latest OxygenOS 10.0.1 should prove you wrong. As per the changelog, the OxygenOS 10.0.1 comes with a bunch of bug fixes and an updated security patch level to 2020.09. While not the latest SMR, it’s good to see OnePlus not hesitating to maintain the 2017 flagship. That being said, the OTA  should take time to reach all the devices out there. You always have the option to check the software update manually by heading over to the update section.

It goes without saying that the Android 11 update for the OnePlus 5 seems to be far from the realm of possibilities. Unless wonder happens, the device will indeed end its life with the Android 10. In a sense, it’s not at all bad as the device has received 3 major Android updates since its release.

Anyway, we recommend you to update your device to be free from bugs and as a measurement to enhance the security.

Micromax In Note 1 and In 1b Launched in India With MediaTek SoCs

After a couple of years, the Indian smartphone brand – Micromax is finally back with the two new smartphones at a budget-friendly price tag. In an online launch event, the company has launched Micromax in Note 1 and in 1b mobiles. In addition to the launch, Micromax has also confirmed that both the smartphones will be getting Android OS and Security patch updates up to 2 years from today.

Micromax In Note 1 Specifications

The device sports a 6.67-inch punch-hole style FHD+ display and is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 processor. In terms of camera, there’s a quad rear camera that assembles with a 48-MP primary camera, 5-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2-MP macro lens and a 2-MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 16-MP single front-facing camera. It comes in two variants i.e 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.

Micromax in Note 1 runs Stock Android 10 and packs a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support upto 18W. Furthermore, there’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack etc.

• The device carries a price tag of Rs. 10,999 for 4GB RAM + 64GB variant and Rs.12,499 for 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM.

Coming to the central part – the camera, it packs a 13-MP + 2-MP dual rear camera and an 8-MP single front-facing camera. The device runs Android 1o out of the box and houses with a 5000mAh battery & 10W fast charging support. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack etc.
