What's New?

Regarding the changes, it is a significant update, and it includes several new features and improvements. Let's have a look at each and every feature.

'Required' filter option

  • So far, the File Manager used to show all the folders of the root folder instead of separating them. Taking it into point, the company has now added the 'Required' filter option through which users can hide root folders and show some of the many folders in the internal memory Root (top location).

  • The essential folders like DCIM, Download, Music, Pictures, etc., will be displayed automatically in the required filter mode. The other folders, including the Alarms, Audiobooks, Documents, Movies, Notifications, Podcasts, Ringtones, Recording, will not be displayed if they are empty. Moreover, the folders created/renamed/copied/moved by the user in the My Files app will always be displayed with the mandatory filter applied.

Samsung has added a new feature that allows users to copy and move the files within the same category. It's also worth noting that Copying and moving to categories is now possible only within the same category (e.g., image category A folder -> image category B folder).
