Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's model numbers and codename are out

While the official release of the next-gen foldables and smartwatch is just a few hours away. The next flagship by the company has started to leak online: Galaxy S23. There are still six months left before the company officially unveils the series. Before that, the model numbers and internal codename of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are revealed.

As usual, the Galaxy S23 series will include three smartphones: Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. As for the model numbers and codename, an early firmware build has been released for the first time. Watch out for the picture below:



The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s codename is ‘DM3,’ while the model number is denoted as SM-S918. From the picture above, we can see that there are follow-ups to this model. They are SM-S918BDS, SM-S918U, SM-S918U1, and SM-S918W. As you might have guessed, all these model numbers indicate the dual-sim and unlocked versions for different regions.

However, even the associate numbers do not reveal much about the device. But now, we do know that Samsung's upcoming 2023 flagship is already in the works.

To recall, Galaxy S23 Ultra is tipped to be the first smartphone to house a massive 200MP sensor with an HP2 sensor. At the front, the handset can feature a QHD+ Super AMOLED LTPO display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset can power the device. Lastly, the leaks claim that it will have a 40MP autofocus front sensor and a 5,000 mAh battery.
