Galaxy S20 variants in the US receive One UI 4.0 Beta update

Yesterday, it is revealed that the Galaxy S20 series will be the next in line to join the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 Beta program. Immediately day after, Samsung announced the beta update for the interested Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra users in the USA.

As of now, only the unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20 series in the US have the access to the One UI 4.0 beta update. It can reach the carrier-locked variants of the premium smartphones in the upcoming weeks. Also, the program will be expanded to other regions including China, India, Korea, Germany, and the UK soon.

  • Tap on the banner for the One UI beta program. (You can find it on the main screen or under the Notices section.)

  • Scroll down and tap on the enroll button.


Thereafter, you can download the Android 12 One UI 4.0 beta update by simply heading to the Settings > Software update > Download and install. 

Android 12 based One UI 4.0 adds the new Material You design with a redesigned UI. Further, it carries several other improvements in the widget picker menu, stock apps, and Samsung Internet & Samsung Keyboard apps. On the top, it enhances privacy and security for a safer user experience.

Three Motorola devices: XT2211-1, XT2211-2, and XT2211DL arrive on FCC

Motorola has several devices waiting to release this year and Starting of 2022. After introducing a couple of smartphones, new devices from the Lenovo-owned firm have started to emerge on online certifications. In the latest news, the brand has fabricated a three-set of smartphones with model numbers XT2211-1, XT2211-2, and XT2211DL, that are spotted on the FCC certification authority.

According to the listing on the FCC, all three devices comprise dual-band Wi-Fi and will arrive with 4G LTE support. Moreover, it confirms that the smartphones will pack an MD50 battery and an MC101 adapter. For your information, MD50 features a 5,000 mAh battery, which is the standard with old Motorola smartphones.



However, the question that arises here is what are the names of these Motorola variants? It could be an add-on to the E-series or G-series flagship. Looking at the previous launches of Motorola, this could also be a mid-range smartphone equipped with all the essential functions.

However,  these are just speculation at the time. We can only make assumptions now, as the official details are still a secret. But now that the devices have started to hit online certification, it is just a matter of time for the beans to spill.

The Lenovo-owned company seems to be all geared up to end this year with a new generation of its smartphones. Yesterday, the company launched Moto E30, and now we have spotted a device Motorola device on China's 3C certification— Moto Edge X.

Though the listing does not reveal much except the model number and charging capacity, we still have some render leaks with us. The Motorola Moto Edge X will bear the model number XT2201-2 as per 3C certification. Further, it will support a fast charging technology of 68.2W.



However, the certification does not disclose the name of the device but, noticing the charging speed, the device belongs to a premium category. Joining the dots, Moto Edge X is the only one that fits into the description.

As a premium smartphone, Moto Edge X is likely to support an AMOLED display with a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device could draw power from either Snapdragon 888 or Snapdragon 898 chipset, which is set to debut this month. Also, it could offer up to 12GB of RAM.

For shooting purposes, the Moto Edge X is tipped to house a triple rear camera led by a 108MP primary sensor. Moreover, the leaks suggest that the smartphone will probably pack a 4,500mAh or 5,000mAh power cell with the mentioned charging capacity.

Keep in note that these are just assumptions, the official details are still undercover. To put a stamp on this, we have to wait for the company's confirmation. Now that the device has started to surface online, we can expect more details to unveil soon.

Xiaomi Mi 12 arrives on EEC certification with Snapdragon 898

The next-generation flagship by Xiaomi— Mi 12 series is in the leaks for almost a month now. In the latest news, the smartphone has made an appearance on the EEC certification, revealing some of its ket details. The Mi 12 is expected to arrive by the end of this year or early 2022.

According to the EEC listing, the global version of the Xiaomi Mi 12 and Mi 12 Pro will bear the model numbers 2201122G and 2201123G respectively. This indicates, unlike its predecessor lineup, the flagship will launch in global markets along with China.

The arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 12 on EEC also put a stamp on the previous rumors. The device will draw power from Snapdragon 898 SoC under the hood. FYI, it will be the first smartphone to equip this chipset.

Before this, a Xiaomi device with model number 2201122G was spotted at the BIS certification. Thus, implying that the Mi 12 is also ready to make its debut in Inida. It could probably accompany the Redmi Note 11 Pro & Note 11 Pro+ smartphones.

As per the other leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 12 will flaunt a curved display with a punch-hole cutout at the center. Further, the panel is tipped to offer a 2K screen and a 120Hz refresh rate in a slimmer body. The latest operating system, Android 12 could fuel the device paired with 1TB storage and 16GB RAM.

Moreover, in the optics section, the Mi 12 is likely to offer a 50MP triple rear camera. Additionally, the device can pack a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 120W of fast charging and 50W of wireless charging.

A couple of months ago, the Lenovo-owned company released the Moto E20 smartphone followed by the Moto E40 launched last month. Finally, the company extended its budget segment of smartphones by introducing the median device— Moto E30.

Display: The Moto E30 features a 6.5-inch HD+ Max Vision IPS display. The panel offers a 90Hz refresh rate, 1600 x 720 pixels resolution, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the screen is IP52 rated thus, making it dust and water-resistant.

Processor: The Unisoc T700 chipset powers the Moto E30 under the hood. For software experience, it offers Android 11 Go Edition pre-installed.

Storage Configuration: The device only arrives in a single storage variant of 32GB paired with 2GB RAM. However, there's a dedicated microSD card slot via which, the storage can be expanded up to 1TB.

Camera: In the Optics section, the Moto E30 houses a triple rear camera led by a 48MP primary snapper. The others include a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP sensor to measure depth. On the other side, there's a single 8MP shooter to serve selfies and video calls.

Connectivity and Security: On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers everything we expect from a budget device: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. Also, there's a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security purposes.

Battery: The Moto E30 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. According to the company, the device gives 40 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The Motorola Moto E30 comes in two color variants of Blue and Grey tagged costing COP 529,900 (roughly about 137$). For now, the device is available for purchase in some South American countries including Colombia and Slovakia. It will soon reach other markets in the upcoming weeks.

Samsung to release One UI 4.0 Beta for Galaxy S20 soon!

Last month, Samsung initiated the One UI 4.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S21 and the new Galaxy Z foldable series. Reportedly, the company is now ready to release the new beta build for the predecessor lineup. And, the Galaxy S20 family is next on the list to get the beta software update.

The information was revealed by the Galaxy S Manager via his latest answer post. He mentioned that the next Galaxy S20 update will be an Android 12-based One UI 4 beta version. However, though we know that the Galaxy S20 series will grab the update next, the release date is still a secret.

While answering a query, he proposed the firmware version number ending with ‘EUI4’ is the last to run on One UI 3.1 update. He further added that the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 update for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra is in the developing stage.



We assume that the One UI 4.0 Beta for the Galaxy S20 series will be released in the next few days or by mid-November. To mention, the South Korean units of the devices are operating the firmware version ‘G98*NKSU1EUI4’ with October 2021 security patch. That implies the update will hit its home country first, later followed by the other regions.

The users need to install the Samsung Members app to keep a track of beta program status. On the other hand, the stable Android 12 One UI 4.0 build for the Galaxy S21 lineup will begin unfurling in December 2021.

The latest update for the Xiaomi CIVI is bundled with the firmware version V12.5.7.0.RKVCNXM weighing 1.2GB in size. Besides adding fresh software and its new features, the package enhances security by inculcating the October 2021 security patch.
