Xiaomi CIVI 2 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC launched in China for ¥2,399

As promised by the company, the Xiaomi CIVI 2 has made its debut in the Chinese market today. The smartphone is the third device in the lineup, including the Xiaomi Civi and Xiaomi Civi 1S. The latest female-focused smartphone arrives with a significant improvement in design and specs. Here's a closer look at the latest Xiaomi handset.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 features a 6.55-inch curved OLED display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen houses a pill-shaped cutout, making it the first Android smartphone to carry so. The panel offers an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, 800 nits peak brightness level, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1920Hz PWM dimming.

Underneath, the smartphone equips the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For software, it runs on Android 12 out of the box along with MIUI 13 on top.

In the optics section, the Xiaomi Civi 2 carries a rectangular island at the back alongside an LED flashlight. The module consists of a 50MP primary lens, a 20MP Ultrawide unit, and a 2MP Macro sensor. At the front, there's a 32MP autofocus snapper and another 32MP  ultra-wide lens.

In addition, the device packs a 4500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support over a USB Type C port. The other notable specs include dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers, Dolby Vision, linear vibration motor, and infrared sensor.

Availability and Price


The Xiaomi CIVI 2 will retail in Black, Blue, Pink, and White color options in China. Unlike its predecessors, the device may debut as Xiaomi 12 Lite NE in international markets. The base 8GB/ 128GB model of the latest phone costs ¥2,399. While the mid 8GB/ 256GB and higher 12GB/ 256GB variants are priced at ¥2,499 and ¥2,799, respectively.

The Chinese tech giant is gearing up to unveil the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro on October 4th. Besides the lineup, the company is reportedly preparing another Mi 12 series model as well: the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE. Ahead of any official announcement, the device has made an appearance on the FCC certification website. Let's take a look at some key details revealed by the listing.

The upcoming Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE will sit over the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE that was launched last year. As the name suggests, it will be a 5G-powered device. On the FCC portal, the upcoming phone bears the 2210129SG model number. Further, the listing sheds light on some key specs, including processor, storage options, connectivity, and more.

On the software front, the smartphone will run MIUI 13 out of the box. With this skin iteration, it is likely to come pre-installed with Android 12 OS. For connectivity, the device will have support for dual-band Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC onboard.

As far as storage configuration is considered, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE will arrive in up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal memory. Precisely, it will include three variants: 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 8GB + 128GB. Besides the aforementioned details, the FCC website does not divulge any other feature.

In addition to this, the same model was also spotted on Singapore's IMDA certification database. Apart from confirming the device's moniker and its 5G connectivity, the certification does not put forward more details.

Galaxy A52 joins One UI 5.0 beta program based on Android 13

In a surprising turn of events, Samsung has ditched its flagship phones to pick up the One UI 5.0 beta update. Instead, the mid-ranger Galaxy A52 becomes the latest device to get the Android 13-based beta program. So far, the company has been testing the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S21 series, making A52 the first budget handset to join the beta group.

As of now, the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy A52 is available for users in India. The other markets will also get access to the program in the coming weeks. However, there is no such confirmation yet as this is a mid-range offering. Also, the package will be a little smaller than the Galaxy flagship smartphones.

As for changes, the beta package will bring multiple new features. To begin with, it includes new Material You theming colors, tweaked notifications icons, stacked widgets, new multi-tasking gestures, enhanced privacy and security, and much more. Moreover, it will bring OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature that will allow the user to copy text from an image and keyboard.

According to the leaks, the One UI 5.0 stable public rollout will officially start after mid-October 2022. While the Galaxy A52 is likely to reach that phase in a couple of months. Lastly, keep in mind that the beta updates are loaded with bugs and glitches that can hinder the user experience. Therefore, we do not recommend you flash it on your primary phone.


Vivo X Fold+ 5G with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC launched for ¥9,999

As promised by the company, Vivo has finally unveiled its next foldable smartphone in China: the Vivo X Fold+ 5G. It sits over the Vivo X Fold 5G that was launched earlier this year. Needless to say, it comes with a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Here's a closer look at the specifications, features, pricing, and other details of the premium handset.

At the front, the Vivo X Fold+ 5G is built around an 8.03-inch foldable E5 AMOLED with a 2K resolution. The screen will provide a refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. The cover display of the device will be a 6.53-inch Full HD+ E5 AMOLED screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, an octa-core processor based on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC powers the device. The chipset is paired with up 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. For software, it comes pre-installed with Android 12 along with OriginOS Ocean skin iteration on top.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X Fold+ 5G carries a massive quad-camera setup at the back. The module consists of a 50MP primary lens with OIS support, a 48MP ultrawide unit, a 12MP portrait sensor, and an 8MP periscope snapper with 5x zoom.

In addition, the 5G-powered smartphone ships with a 4700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Also, it can be backed up with 50W wireless fast charging as well. Besides, both screens come with a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

Price and Availability


The Vivo X Fold+ 5G is up for purchase in China in Red, Blue, and Black color options. The device costs ¥9,999 (~₹1,13,900/ $1,398) for its base 12GB/ 256GB model. On the other hand, the other 12GB/ 512GB variant is priced at ¥10,999 (~₹1,25,300/ $1,538).

As for launch offers, a few lucky pre-buyers of the device stand a chance to win a free 50W wireless charger and protective case. However, the deal is valid for a limited quantity until October 7.

Xiaomi is getting ready to launch the new Pro variant in the series. After the success of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the device is already coming with the hype that it deserves. The official launch date of the device is unknown. However, we expect it to debut around mid-November or early December. Xiaomi 13 Pro: Specification


The Xiaomi 13 Pro was spotted under model number 2210132C. Most of the information about the device is unknown, but few are still known. The device may be coming with Android 13-based MIUI 14. It will also have a curved AMOLED display. Another mind-blowing information is that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. A new design of the camera alignment setup can be expected. The device will capacitate up to 12GB Ram. Also, the handset will ship with 120W fast charging although the battery capacity is still unknown. But we predict it will be around 4600mAh as their previous model.

Even though the device is launching in 2022 it will be available in India around January 2023. The fast charging support of 120W was something available in their previous model. This may be a hurdle for Xiaomi because their competitor is able to provide around 200W charging at that price range. So this device should come with some mindblowing features packed in it otherwise it's just another Xiaomi 12 pro phone with an upgraded chipset.
