Oppo Reno 9 design and specifications leaked ahead of launch

Oppo is said to be working to unveil the successor of the Reno 8 lineup: the Oppo Reno 9 series. The family will likely include three models: Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+. As always, the company did not announce anything officially yet. However, we expect it to debut later this year. On that note, the design and specs of the vanilla Reno 9 has managed to leak online.

According to the rumors, the Oppo Reno 9 will bear the model number PHM110. The leaks claim it to feature a 6.7 inches curved-edge OLED display. The panel can offer a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels. Also, it can carry an under-display fingerprint scanner for security.

Under the hood, the smartphone will draw power from an octa-core processor based on Snapdragon 778G Plus SoC. The chipset will further be paired with 12 GB RAM. In addition, a 4,500 mAh battery is said to keep the system working with 67W fast charging support. If it's true, it will be a downgrade from the 80W fast charging on Reno 8.

In terms of optics, the upcoming Oppo Reno 9 is no different from its predecessor. That means it will house a 32MP camera at the front punch hole cutout. On the other side, it may carry a 64MP OmniVision OV64B central unit. Unfortunately, the capacity of the other lenses is still undercover.

On the software front, we can expect it to ship with Android 13 out of the box along with ColorOS 13 on top.

As of now, this is all we know about the Reno 9. The device will be an upper mid-range smartphone offering that can go official in November or December. Lastly, we expect the device to launch in other markets outside China as well, including India.

Poco F5 5G to equip Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, key specs leaked

After the launch of Poco F4 earlier this year, the company is reportedly working to unveil the successor variant: Poco F5 5G. However, as always, there are no official words yet. Although, the key specifications of the upcoming F-series iteration have managed to leak online. It is likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K60 5G, which will make its debut next year.

As said, the handset will first make its entry in China as Redmi K60 5G, later followed by the other markets as Poco F4 5G. As revealed by the IMEI database, the upcoming Poco smartphone will bear the model number 23013PC75G/I in the Global and Indian markets respectively. Whereas, the Redmi K60 in the domestic market will be marked with the 23013RK75C model number.

In addition, the reports disclose the codename “Mandrian” for the approaching 5G handset. Further, the rumors have claimed to know the display and processor details.

As per leaks, the Poco F4 5G will feature an AMOLED display. The panel can offer a 2K resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, making it the first Poco smartphone to do so. Besides, it can provide a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of brightness as well. Under the hood, it is tipped to draw power from an octa-core processor based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

Nokia T10 LTE Tablet with UniSoC T606 SoC launched in India for ₹12,799

India is marking the launch of a new budget tablet: the Nokia T10 LTE. To recall, HMD Global unveiled the Nokia T10 tablet a few weeks ago. At the front, the Nokia T10 LTE features an 8-inch LCD display with a punch-hole cutout at the top center. The panel offers a screen resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio. In addition, a 5250 mAh battery keeps the screen lightened up with 10W charging support.

Under the hood, it draws power from an octa-core processor based on UniSoC T606. The chipset is integrated with Mali G57 GPU and coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Also, the storage can be expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot.

On the software front, the Nokia T10 LTE boosts Android 12 out of the box. The company has promised to deliver five years of updates. Out of which two will be major Android versions and the other three years of Android security patches.

In terms of optics, there's an 8MP camera at the back alongside an LED flash. For selfies and video calls, the front notch houses a 2MP sensor. The other notable specs include a USB Type-C port, stereo speaker setup with OZO audio support, and IPX2 rating, making it splash-resistant.

Nokia T10 LTE will go on sale starting October 15 in Ocean Blue color. You can buy the device via the official company's store and other major e-commerce portals. It costs ₹12,799 for its base 3GB/32GB variant. Whereas, the upper 4GB/ 64GB model costs ₹13,999.

The Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 beta for the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G is currently rolling out in India. Other countries could join the program in the coming weeks. The users can identify the build via the firmware version RMX3392_11_C.01, which weighs around 5.22GB to download.

One UI 5.0 to be officially announced at SDC 2022 tomorrow

Starting with the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung initiated the One UI 5.0 Beta Program two months ago. So far, the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A52 have joined the update list. In the latest development, the Korean tech giant will finally announce the Android 13-based skin iteration officially tomorrow at the Samsung Developer Conference 2022.

As announced by the company's website, it will officially talk about One UI 5.0 during Samsung Developer Conference 2022. All the features, philosophy, UI/UX design, compatible smartphones, and more details will be revealed during the event. In that case, we can expect the stable One UI 5.0 release after the keynote. Needless to say, the Galaxy S22 series will be the first one to hit the phase. To recall, the lineup is already running the fourth beta version.

Google's Gboard latest update brings Android tablet layout

At the Google I/O 2022, the company announced that it will update its stock apps with a UI design specially crafted for large-screen devices. The latest large-screen-optimized UI for Android tablets is a part of Gboard 12.3 beta. When we say, new UI, it means the keyboard is less stretched out and more taller by default. Also, the background and keys are squares instead of rectangles, making it earlier to tap. On the other hand, while in portrait mode, the touch keys will get thin. Although the layout remains the same.

Moreover, the first two rows on the left houses Tab and Caps Lock keys. If you want to hide the keyboard, head to the bottom-right corner. MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC is ready to power mid-range 5G phones

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 1080 processor whits sits over the Dimensity 920 SoC. Although is a watered-down version of the MediaTek Dimensity 1050. That implies the new chipset is 5G-ready. The company says that it will start hitting in Q4 2022 to power the upcoming mid-range smartphones. In the meantime, let's take a closer look at the details of the latest processor.

The Dimensity 1080 SoC is a 6nm octa-core chipset manufactured by TSMC. It features two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.6 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0 GHz. Also, it is integrated with the Mali-G68 MC4 unit to control graphics. In terms of storage, it supports LPDDR5 RAM and two-lane UFS 3.1.

In addition, it includes MediaTek's HyperEngine 3.0 networking engine as well. That means if your phone is dual SIM, it will allow users to play games on one 5G-enabled SIM and answer phone calls via the other.

Concerning cameras, the respective companies can deploy up to 200MP sensors with Dimensity 1080 SOC, that too with no shutter lag. The unit will support quad-camera concurrency and 4K HDR video recording.

For display, smartphones equipped with the new processor will feature a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual 5G with dual standby.

As mentioned, we can see the smartphones running on Dimensity 1080 chipset before this year ends. The Redmi Note 12 series is likely to be one of the first devices to do so. In that case, we can see the processor's performance in November.

The build is rolling out in the European and global markets with firmware versions V13.1.2.0.SLYEUXM and V13.1.4.0.SLYMIXM respectively. Besides increasing system security, it does not carry any other changes.
